1 Complete Model & Code Explanation

Model: 71901 CEGA/P4A

Code Definition

71901: Basic dimension of 719 miniature extra-light series angular contact ball bearing

CE: High-speed E-type internal geometry with optimized rolling element trajectory, balancing ultimate speed and load stability

GA: Single independent bearing specification with standard end-face grinding, no factory duplex matching mark, cannot be used as fixed pair directly

P4A: ISO P4A super precision tolerance grade, single-unit standard precision, suitable for on-site spacer assembly

Supply form: Single independent bearing without matching serial number; DB/DF/DT assembly can be realized by using precision spacers

Important reminder: This bearing is supplied as single unit without factory duplex lapping. Direct butt assembly of two identical bearings cannot ensure uniform preload. Precision spacers with necessary end lapping adjustment are required for stable assembly accuracy.

2 Structure & Operating Characteristics

Japan NMT 71901 CEGA/P4A is miniature all-steel super precision angular contact ball bearing belonging to 719 series, adopting 15° contact angle high-speed E-type internal geometry. Integrated steel rings are stabilized by heat treatment to reduce dimensional change risk during long-term operation. Raceways are processed via multi-stage ultra-precision mirror grinding with strictly controlled surface roughness to realize low-vibration and low-noise rotation.

High-precision graded all-steel rolling elements provide stable load distribution and good rigidity. The open non-sealed construction eliminates friction loss from sealing components and allows flexible adaptation to grease lubrication and oil-air lubrication. Supplied as an independent single unit, machine manufacturers can freely adopt DB back-to-back, DF face-to-face or DT tandem layout according to equipment structure, and adjust preload via precision spacers to meet development requirements of various compact high-speed rotary mechanisms.

3 Core Performance Advantages

1. 15° contact angle E-type high-speed geometry: Optimized rolling element trajectory, excellent ultimate speed performance and good radial rigidity, suitable for conventional high-speed miniature spindle applications.

2. All-steel rolling element configuration: Mature and stable all-steel solution with uniform load, reliable rigidity, low maintenance cost and long service life under stable lubrication conditions.

3. P4A miniature super precision tolerance: High rotational accuracy and small dimension dispersion, satisfying basic precision requirements of miniature precision equipment.

4. Open uncoated non-sealed design: No sealing resistance, compatible with both grease lubrication and oil-air lubrication, wide application range.

5. Flexible single-unit assembly: No fixed factory matching limitation. Various configurations can be arranged with precision spacers for prototype testing and customized compact spindle projects.

5 Assembly Specifications & Usage Guidelines

5.1 Assembly Environment & Operation Standards

Assembly of miniature P4A super precision bearings is recommended inside constant-temperature dust-free clean workstations. Thoroughly remove tiny burrs and dust on shaft and housing bore. Controlled thermal mounting is preferred. Direct striking on bearing rings is prohibited; miniature bearings easily suffer raceway indentation leading to premature failure.

Important reminder: This is single bearing without factory duplex grinding. Uniform preload cannot be obtained by directly installing two bearings face to face. Precision spacers of matching accuracy grade are mandatory, and spacer end lapping should be conducted if necessary.

5.2 Assembly Combination & Preload Instructions

Supply condition: Individually packed single bearing without matching serial number

Optional layout: DB back-to-back / DF face-to-face / DT tandem

Selection guidance:

Prioritize this CEGA/P4A model for ultimate speed, conventional conditions and budget control;

Upgrade to hybrid ceramic version CE/HC P4A if electric corrosion risk, extreme speed or long continuous operation exists;

Choose CE/HC P4AH version for oil-air lubrication and long-term continuous operation;

Adopt factory duplex matched bearing sets for mass standardized production to skip spacer adjustment;

Select 25° contact angle CDGA/P4A series for heavy axial thrust and higher axial rigidity.

5.3 Lubrication Matching Scheme

No pre-filled grease inside bearing. Premium high-speed grease can be used for moderate continuous speed. Oil-air forced lubrication is recommended when running near speed limit or continuously for long periods. Precision filters must be installed in lubrication pipelines; tiny hard particles easily scratch mirror raceways of miniature bearings. Mixing different types of lubricants is forbidden.

5.4 Speed Application Notes

The listed rotational speeds are theoretical permissible limits. Adequate safety margin and spindle cooling structure should be reserved in practical equipment. Open bearings have no built-in dust and liquid protection. External labyrinth seals or shaft seals must be arranged on housings to avoid abrasive wear caused by ingress of dust and cutting fluid.

6 Daily Maintenance & Fault Troubleshooting

Carry out low-speed staged running-in after assembly, continuously monitor temperature rise and vibration, and increase speed gradually after parameters stabilize. Miniature bearings have low thermal capacity and temperature rises rapidly; shut down immediately once fast temperature surge appears.

Troubleshooting sequence for abnormal operation: cleanliness of lubricant, sufficient oil/grease supply, assembly coaxiality, excessive preload, contaminant ingress.

Typical failure modes of miniature all-steel precision angular contact bearings: raceway indentation from foreign particles, overheating due to insufficient lubrication, accelerated fatigue under excessive preload, edge loading caused by misalignment, uneven preload due to low-precision spacers. Implement regular inspection to prevent sudden seizure and abnormal noise of spindles.
