1 Complete Model & Code Explanation

Model: S7001 ACEGC/P4A

Code Definition

S7001: S stands for stainless steel; 7001 basic dimension specification of light single-row angular contact ball bearing

ACE: Raceway geometry with 25° nominal contact angle, balancing limiting speed and axial load capacity for combined loads dominated by radial force

GC: Upgraded double non-contact metallic dust seal. Optimized clearance structure improves fine dust blocking performance. Zero contact friction supports high-speed operation, only for dry dust protection, not resistant to continuous liquid spray or heavy vapor

P4A: Precision P4 tolerance grade to meet positioning requirements of precision rotary equipment. Single unit supports on-site DB/DF/DT duplex assembly, preload adjusted with precision spacers

Supply form: Separate single bearing without factory duplex lapping

Important reminder: S7001 ACEGC/P4A adopts martensitic stainless steel with basic anti-rust property, suitable for condensation and alternating dry-wet environments. Not applicable for salt water, strong acid/alkali or continuous liquid mist spray, cannot replace high corrosion-resistant austenitic stainless steel bearings. Load capacity is lower than bearing steel 7001 ACEGB/HCP4A. GC non-contact seal without pre-filled grease, compatible with grease and oil-air lubrication.

2 Structure & Operating Characteristics

Japan NMT S7001 ACEGC/P4A is developed on mature S70 stainless steel series platform. ACE 25° contact angle balances high-speed performance and axial support, widely selected for medium & small humidity-resistant precision rotary shafts. Inner rings, outer rings and rolling elements are manufactured from martensitic stainless steel to resist surface rust caused by ambient vapor and condensation, solving rust issues of ordinary bearing steel bearings in humid workshops. Raceways adopt mirror super-finishing technology to reduce rolling friction and suppress vibration and noise during high-speed rotation.

Equipped with GC upgraded double non-contact metallic dust shields with optimized sealing clearance, delivering improved barrier performance against fine dry dust compared with standard GB seal. No physical contact inside the seal minimizes extra heat generation and stabilizes temperature rise, fully releasing the operating speed potential of stainless steel bearings. This seal only protects against dry dust and cannot withstand long-term mist or liquid flushing. No grease pre-filled at factory, supporting multiple lubrication methods.

Bearings are delivered as single units without factory duplex grinding. Machine builders can adopt precision spacers to realize various duplex layouts and flexibly adjust preload according to structural rigidity requirements. Corrosion level must be clarified during selection; this model fits slight condensation environments. Austenitic stainless steel bearings are required for salt spray or chemical media conditions.

3 Core Performance Advantages

1. Martensitic stainless steel substrate: Built-in basic rust resistance, suitable for alternating dry-wet conditions with ambient condensation.

2. ACE 25° contact angle geometry: Balances limiting speed and axial load capacity for combined loads dominated by radial force.

3. GC upgraded non-contact dust seal: Optimized clearance structure enhances fine dust isolation, contact-free friction achieves lower temperature rise at high speed.

4. P4A precision grade: Strictly controls rotational runout to guarantee rotary positioning accuracy of precision mechanisms.

5. Wide lubrication compatibility: No pre-filled grease, works well with grease lubrication and oil-air lubrication.

6. Flexible duplex assembly: Single bearing supports DB/DF/DT configurations to satisfy diversified equipment rigidity design.

5 Assembly Specifications & Usage Guidelines

5.1 Assembly Environment & Operation Standards

Assembly of P4A precision stainless steel angular contact bearings should be carried out in clean environments. Thermal mounting is preferred; direct impact on bearing rings, rolling elements and dust shields is strictly prohibited. Maintain dust protection throughout assembly. Hard impurities entering sealing clearance will lead to permanent raceway damage. When two bearings are paired, select precision spacers with matching accuracy and adjust preload precisely to achieve uniform load sharing, avoiding high-speed vibration and local overheating.

5.2 Duplex Layout & Selection Guidance

Supply condition: Independent single bearing with GC upgraded non-contact dust seal

Available assembly layout: DB back-to-back / DF face-to-face / DT tandem

Selection reference:

High ambient humidity with condensation risk, basic dust protection, priority on rotational speed → S7001 ACEGC/P4A (this model);

Water mist or intermittent clean water splash, enhanced sealing required → S7001 ACEGA/P4A contact seal version;

Fully enclosed housing with forced lubrication, pursuing ultimate speed and good dust control → S7001 ACE/P4A open bearing;

Heavy axial thrust load requiring improved axial rigidity → S7001 CDGC/P4A;

Dry dust-free environment requiring higher load capacity → 7001 ACEGB/HCP4A bearing steel model;

Salt spray, acid & alkali cleaning environment → high corrosion-resistant austenitic stainless steel bearings required.

5.3 Lubrication Scheme

No lubricant pre-installed inside S7001 ACEGC/P4A, suitable lubricant must be filled during assembly. Long-life high-speed grease can be used for low-speed intermittent equipment; oil-air lubrication is recommended for medium-high speed continuous operation. Stainless steel surface property differs from bearing steel, lubricants formulated for stainless steel contact surfaces are preferred. Continuously monitor temperature and vibration, set lubrication replenishment cycle based on load. Never mix lubricants of different base oils or brands to prevent premature wear caused by lubrication failure.

5.4 Environmental Application Notes

GC upgraded non-contact dust seal only blocks dry dust and cannot resist long-term continuous mist or liquid flushing. External housing sealing must be added if cleaning spray exists on site. Martensitic stainless steel provides basic rust resistance but is not resistant to salt spray, acid and alkali; do not use in chemical corrosive atmosphere. Keep housing ventilated and dry during long-term shutdown to extend service life.

6 Daily Maintenance & Fault Troubleshooting

Perform low-speed staged running-in after assembly, gradually raise rotating speed to operating level after stabilization, continuously monitor temperature rise and vibration. For abnormal overheating of stainless steel bearings, priority inspection targets include excessive preload, insufficient lubrication and dust ingress into sealing clearance.

Implement regular inspection plan to track lubrication system operation and avoid dry friction failure caused by oil supply interruption. Shut down and inspect raceways and rolling elements immediately once continuous abnormal noise or rising vibration occurs, check for indentation, rust and surface spalling. Common failure causes: interrupted lubrication supply, abrasive wear from dust intrusion, operation beyond material corrosion resistance limit, excessive contact stress induced by oversized preload.
