NMT Paper Pulp Making Machinery Tapered Roller Bearings Heavy-Duty High-Temperature Fiber & Water Resistant Bearings for Pulpers, Press Rolls & Dryer Sections
Pulpers, press rolls, dryers and winders are core main equipment of pulp and paper production lines. Main shaft supports of pulpers, bearing housings of press rolls and dryer transmission positions operate under harsh working conditions: continuous combined squeezing loads, high-temperature steam radiation in dryer sections, perennial high humidity and vapor inside workshops, floating fine pulp fibers, periodic pressure fluctuation of roll surfaces, alternating operation between wet and dry zones and non-stop all-weather papermaking production. Paper production lines demand extremely high continuity, and all processes run coherently. Once shutdown occurs due to bearing failure, wet paper web is prone to breakage, waste heat inside dryers cannot be properly handled, a large quantity of semi-finished paper will be scrapped, and restart commissioning takes a long time, directly causing huge raw material and output losses. Ordinary tapered roller bearings cannot adapt to special high-temperature, high-humidity and fiber-dense environments in paper mills, becoming a common pain point for papermaking machinery manufacturers and paper mill maintenance teams. Press rolls and pulpers continuously bear bidirectional squeezing loads and axial forces, and periodic load variation arises from fluctuations in paper thickness. Ordinary bearings have insufficient fatigue resistance and tend to form raceway indentation and rolling element surface peeling under long-term cyclic loads, triggering roll vibration and transverse texture defects on paper surfaces. Dryer zones are continuously baked by high-temperature steam; conventional grease oxidizes rapidly and cokes under heat, leading to excessive temperature rise of bearings. Fine floating pulp fibers are soft but easily wrap around seal gaps during production. Simple seals are quickly clogged and worn out by entangled fibers. Fibers together with vapor penetrate into bearings, mix with grease and form abrasive medium that continuously wears raceways and rolling elements. Alternating dry and wet conditions make condensed vapor easily induce internal rust of bearings. Disassembly of large papermaking main equipment is complicated. Shutdown for fiber cleaning and bearing replacement greatly shortens effective production hours and continuously increases operation costs of paper mills.
Focusing on transmission supporting field for pulp and paper equipment, Japan NMT specially develops high-temperature water & fiber resistant heavy-duty tapered roller bearings dedicated for pulpers, press rolls and dryers for paper production lines to solve industry pain points of ordinary papermaking bearings such as insufficient heat resistance, susceptibility to rust caused by humid vapor, abrasive wear induced by entangled pulp fibers, high-temperature lubrication failure and limited service life under continuous papermaking operation. Taking advantage of bidirectional linear load-bearing structure of tapered rollers, combined with five core upgrades including heat & moisture resistant refined bearing alloy steel, multi-layer labyrinth high-temperature fiber-proof waterproof composite sealing, deep-hardening super-finishing strengthening technology for raceways, high-temperature hydrolysis-resistant long-life lubrication and precise clearance matching for paper machine roll loads, it fully adapts to harsh paper mill conditions with high-temperature steam, humid vapor and continuous fiber interference. It fundamentally solves problems including high-temperature grease coking, rust induced by vapor, abrasive wear by fibers and seal failure caused by fiber entanglement, stabilizes rotation precision of all kinds of rolls and guarantees long-cycle continuous stable production of pulping, paper forming and drying lines.
Core Product Advantages
1. Bidirectional ultra-large combined load bearing withstands roll squeezing force and dynamic axial thrust: Adopting tapered roller linear contact structure, it bears high-strength radial heavy squeezing loads and continuous axial thrust simultaneously with uniform load distribution in contact zones. It effectively buffers periodic load impact caused by paper thickness variation, balances eccentric loads during operation of press rolls and dryers, restrains local overload wear on unilateral raceways and stably controls axial play of shaft systems to ensure smooth roll operation and reduce paper transverse marks and web break failures.
2. Heat & moisture resistant bearing steel matrix delivers long-term fatigue and corrosion resistance under high-temperature humid environment: Selected high-purity heat and moisture resistant bearing alloy steel specially for heavy papermaking equipment undergoes deep quenching & tempering heat treatments to optimize metallographic structure under high-temperature humid conditions, improve rust resistance in condensed vapor environments while maintaining excellent fatigue resistance. It withstands long-term alternating squeezing loads of roll systems, delays raceway fatigue damage and surface peeling of rolling elements, and lowers risks of rust induced by dual erosion of high temperature in dryers and workshop humidity.
3. Multi-layer labyrinth high-temperature fiber & water-proof composite sealing blocks ingress and entanglement of vapor and pulp fibers: Equipped with exclusive anti-winding thickened seal lip & multi-labyrinth protective structure for papermaking conditions. It resists aging and hardening under high temperature, and the labyrinth structure prevents fiber accumulation and entanglement. It intercepts condensed vapor and fine pulp fibers layer by layer, prevents fibers and vapor from entering housings and contaminating grease, and avoids jamming from fiber winding, persistent abrasive wear and internal rust.
4. Deep-hardening super-finishing grinding technology for raceways controls frictional temperature rise and suppresses roll vibration: Deep hardening treatment plus micron-level super-finishing grinding is applied on contact surfaces of raceways and rollers to optimize contact profile, improve oil film stability under alternating high-temperature wet and dry conditions, reduce heat accumulation under continuous squeezing loads, slow precision attenuation after years of continuous operation, lower vibration of press rolls and dryers and enhance surface quality of finished paper.
5. Customized clearance for paper machine rolls & high-temperature hydrolysis-resistant long-life lubrication system: Internal clearance is precisely matched according to different operating temperature and load of dryer transmissions, press roll supports and pulper main shafts to avoid seizure under low temperature and thermal expansion seizure under sustained high temperature. Matched with special lubrication formula resistant to high temperature, vapor hydrolysis and fiber impurity contamination, it adapts to high-temperature and high-humidity environments in paper mills and extends online lubrication maintenance intervals of equipment.
