When the engine starts and begins to operate, the intense combustion inside the cylinders generates enormous amounts of heat——approximately one-third of this energy must be dissipated through the cooling system, otherwise the engine would suffer severe damage from overheating. Once a water pump bearing fails, coolant circulation stops, and the engine will overheat within minutes——potentially causing cylinder head deformation, cylinder scoring or even complete engine destruction.
