2 Structure & Operating Characteristics
Japan NMT 7003 CE/P4ADT is an E-type high-speed duplex precision angular contact bearing of 70 series with 15° contact angle, pre-set as tandem << arrangement. The 15° small contact angle features low rolling resistance and excellent high-speed performance with good radial load capacity. E-type high-speed optimized raceway improves rolling contact track, reduces friction loss and heat generation at high speed, suitable for long-term continuous high-speed operation. Integrated inner and outer rings maintain stable rigidity, minimize assembly deformation and sustain long-term high-precision rotation.
The prominent advantage of tandem duplex arrangement is superimposed axial load capacity, enabling the set to withstand heavy unidirectional axial load. Its disadvantage lies in weak resistance to overturning moment and poor capacity for bidirectional axial force, ideal for shaft systems dominated by unidirectional axial thrust and low bending moment. No factory preset preload; axial preload is established via external locking components and adjustable according to working conditions. Open seal-free design eliminates friction from seals to maximize speed potential. No pre-filled lubricant inside; high-speed grease or oil-air lubrication can be adopted.
The matched bearing set is precisely calibrated at factory. Do not use separately or alter assembly layout without authorization, otherwise matching accuracy will be damaged, leading to higher vibration, noise and shortened service life.
3 Core Performance Advantages
1. Factory Pre-Matched Tandem Duplex Set: Two bearings precision-selected with unified end-face precision, directly compatible with tandem support assembly.
2. 15° Contact Angle & E-Type High-Speed Raceway: Low rolling resistance, outstanding temperature control and high-speed stability, balancing radial load capacity and limiting speed.
3. Superimposed Axial Load Capacity under Tandem Layout: Significantly improved unidirectional axial load resistance for spindles under continuous unidirectional axial thrust.
4. Field-Adjustable Axial Preload: Without fixed factory preload, preload magnitude can be flexibly tuned by external locking mechanisms for multiple load conditions.
5. P4A Ultra-Precision Grade: Strict control over radial and axial runout to maintain continuous high-precision rotation.
6. Integrated Bearing Steel Rings: High mechanical strength, good wear resistance and thermal stability for long-term continuous operation of industrial equipment.
7. Open Seal-Free Construction: Free of extra friction loss to fully realize high-speed performance, compatible with advanced lubrication such as oil-air lubrication.
4 Typical Application Scenarios
4.1 High-Speed Spindles under Unidirectional Axial Load: High-speed deep hole drilling spindles, high-speed grinding spindles, precision engraving spindles under unidirectional tension load.
4.2 Automated Precision Axial Loading Mechanisms: Rotary units of precision press-fit equipment, high-speed winding shafts, conveying turntables with unidirectional axial force.
4.3 Precision Testing Equipment: High-speed rotating shafts for material fatigue testing, rotary support components of precision compression inspection machines.
4.4 General High-Speed Precision Equipment: Spindles for high-speed winding machinery, rotary shaft assemblies of medium & small precision fluid equipment.
5 Assembly Specifications & Usage Guidelines
5.1 Assembly Environment & Operation Standards
P4A high-precision duplex matched bearings must be installed in dust-free clean environment. Remove burrs, dust and metal debris on shaft journals, housing bores and spacer mating surfaces. Thermal mounting is preferred. Direct impact on raceways, rolling elements and working surfaces is prohibited. Use the complete matched set; avoid mixing split bearings with other batches. Control interference fit properly: excessive interference leads to sharp temperature rise; insufficient interference causes outer ring creep and impairs shaft precision.
5.2 Matching Structure & Preload Instructions
This model is factory fixed as tandem << duplex configuration. Do not convert to back-to-back or face-to-face arrangement without approval. Tandem layout mainly bears unidirectional axial load and is not suitable for alternating bidirectional axial force or large overturning moment.
No factory preset preload for this model. Axial preload is realized by lock nuts and spacers during assembly. Preload value must be calculated carefully: excessive preload may cause overheating and seizure; insufficient preload results in axial play and increased vibration.
5.3 Lubrication Matching Solutions
No pre-filled lubricant inside bearing. High-speed grease is applicable for intermittent low-speed operation; oil-air circulating lubrication system is recommended for long-term continuous high-speed operation. Mixing different grades of lubricants is forbidden. Thoroughly clean bearing assembly before lubricant replacement.
5.4 Speed Parameter Note
Obtain reference limiting speed data directly from SKF. Reserve sufficient safety margin for continuous operation. Reduce operating speed under heavy load or poor heat dissipation to prevent premature fatigue failure.
6 Daily Maintenance & Fault Troubleshooting
Carry out low-speed no-load trial run after assembly, increase speed gradually, monitor vibration, noise and temperature rise. Formal operation can start only under stable working condition. Open design lacks built-in dust and coolant protection. External sealing must be installed at shaft end when dust, cutting fluid or moisture exists.
Replenish and replace lubricants periodically according to service cycle to maintain complete oil film on raceways. If continuous abnormal noise, axial play, precision decline or overheating occurs, sequentially inspect assembly interference, bearing mounting direction, preload magnitude, foreign particle intrusion and lubrication failure. Avoid severe impact loads which cause permanent ring deformation.
