2 Structure & Operating Characteristics

Japan NMT S71901 ACDGA/P4A belongs to S719 series miniature stainless steel super precision angular contact ball bearing. It adopts ACD high-load D-type internal geometry with 25° contact angle, balancing radial capacity and axial thrust resistance. Inner and outer rings are integrally formed, raceways processed by ultra-precision grinding to control rotary vibration.

Equipped with double-sided non-contact seals. Unlike contact lip seals, it creates almost no extra friction torque during operation and fits medium and high-speed applications. The seal structure blocks dry dust and slight moisture condensation from invading raceways, extending grease service life. Special grease is pre-filled from factory, so direct installation is available under standard working conditions without on-site refilling.

As universal matchable single bearing, it can be assembled into back-to-back, face-to-face or tandem configurations according to machine layout. Grade A preload can be achieved by measured load method to satisfy rigidity and precision requirements of various miniature precision rotary shafts. Stainless steel base material delivers basic rust resistance for clean environments with mild humidity and dust.

3 Core Performance Advantages

1. ACD high-load D-type 25° contact angle structure: Superior axial rigidity, excellent performance under combined load conditions.

2. Double-sided non-contact seal: Resists dust and mild condensation while maintaining low friction torque, suitable for continuous medium-high speed operation.

3. Factory pre-filled grease: Ready for direct installation under standard conditions and simplifies on-site lubrication procedures.

4. P4A super precision tolerance: High rotational accuracy and good dimensional consistency for precision transmission and optical rotary components.

5. Universal free duplex design: Single unit can form multiple DB/DF/DT combinations, grade A preload solution compatible with various precision equipment.

6. Stainless steel substrate: Slows rust formation in humid and condensation-prone environments compared with standard bearing steel bearings.

5 Assembly Specifications & Usage Guidelines

5.1 Assembly Environment & Operation Standards

Assembly of P4A precision miniature bearings is recommended in constant-temperature clean space. Remove all burrs and contaminants on shaft journal and housing bore. Thermal mounting is preferred; direct striking on bearing rings is forbidden. Avoid scratches on seal lips, otherwise dust protection performance will decline sharply.

Important reminder: No factory duplex grinding for universal single bearings. When two bearings are combined, use precision spacers and adjust preload to grade A standard via measured load to ensure uniform load distribution.

5.2 Assembly Combination & Preload Instructions

Supply condition: Independent single bearing, universal for duplex arrangement

Optional layout: DB back-to-back / DF face-to-face / DT tandem

Preload control method: Measured load, grade A preload

Selection guidance:

Dusty environment with mild condensation requiring basic sealing protection → prioritize S71901 ACDGA/P4A;

Clean and dry condition without dust or moisture pursuing ultimate speed → select open type S71901 ACDGC/P4A;

Mass standardized equipment without on-site preload adjustment → choose factory duplex matched S71901 ACDGA/P4AQ;

Mainly radial load with minor axial thrust → select 15° contact angle ACEGA series;

Fully dry dust-free environment with no anti-rust demand → adopt standard bearing steel 719 series.

5.3 Lubrication Matching Scheme

Grease is pre-filled inside bearing. Continuous medium-low speed operation can be sustained directly; for long-term continuous high-speed running, an external grease replenishing structure can be considered. Non-contact seals are not designed for high-pressure continuous oil-air lubrication, excessive external oil supply is not recommended. Prevent lubricants from contacting sealing components to avoid material aging. Mixing different grease types is prohibited.

5.4 Speed & Seal Application Notes

Attainable speed data can be obtained by consulting SKF for reference. Non-contact seals only work for dust prevention and mild condensation resistance. Not applicable for heavy liquid spraying or long-term immersion. Stainless steel provides basic rust protection and cannot withstand persistent corrosion by strong acid or alkali. If equipment operates under continuously high humidity or liquid splash conditions, an external protective housing should be equipped on the machine.

6 Daily Maintenance & Fault Troubleshooting

Implement low-speed staged running-in after assembly, continuously monitor temperature rise and vibration, then raise rotating speed to rated value once operation stabilizes. Grease inside non-contact sealed bearings has limited service cycle; establish regular maintenance schedule for equipment running non-stop for long periods.

Main abnormal inspection directions: scratched seals, excessive preload leading to high temperature, coaxiality deviation of shaft and housing, dust penetrating seals into raceways, aging and failure of lubricating grease.

Typical failure modes: foreign matter indentation caused by damaged seal, grease dry-out after long-time high-speed operation, fatigue spalling from improper preload, surface rust generated during long-term static storage under humid conditions. Regularly check abnormal noise and temperature variation to prevent shaft sticking and precision degradation.
