NMT Precision Cylindrical Thrust Roller Bearings Heavy-Duty High-Speed Long-Life Precision Cylindrical Thrust Roller Bearings For Vertical Motors, Marine Propulsion, Die-Casting Machinery And Industrial Automation

Various rotating equipment requiring large axial load capacity, such as vertical motors, marine propulsion systems, die-casting machinery, industrial automation equipment and heavy-duty gearboxes, are primarily subjected to axial thrust during operation, with some conditions also experiencing radial loads and impact loads. As equipment speeds continue to increase, extremely high demands are placed on bearing limiting speed, axial load capacity and operational smoothness. Ordinary thrust ball bearings rely on point contact for load carrying, with limited axial load capacity. Under heavy loads, contact stress concentration occurs, leading to indentations and early fatigue spalling. While spherical thrust roller bearings can accommodate certain misalignment, they generate significant heat and have limited speed capability under pure axial high-speed conditions.

Most heavy-load equipment requires long-term continuous operation, placing extremely high demands on bearing life and reliability. Friction between rolling element end faces and cages, as well as sliding components between rolling elements and raceways, generate significant heat at high speeds, affecting bearing life and equipment precision. The industry urgently requires heavy-duty thrust bearings with high axial load capacity, high limiting speed, low friction heat generation and smooth, reliable operation.

NMT Cylindrical Thrust Roller Bearings employ cylindrical rollers and flat raceway structures, with line contact between rollers and raceways capable of withstanding large unidirectional axial loads. Roller end faces are precision-ground and superfinished, combined with optimized cage designs to effectively reduce sliding friction between roller end faces and cages, adapting to high-speed operation. Bearings are available in multiple structural types——single-direction, double-direction and with aligning seat rings——adapting to different load directions and installation requirements. Cages are manufactured from high-strength copper alloy or steel, adapting to grease lubrication, oil bath lubrication and circulating oil lubrication methods.

Rollers are precision-machined from high-purity bearing alloy steel, subject to strict micron-level dimensional sorting, with surfaces superfinished for low friction coefficient and minimal temperature rise. Shaft washers and housing washers undergo forging, precision grinding and superfinishing. All components receive quenching heat treatment and long-term low-temperature stabilization processing to achieve sufficient surface hardness with core toughness, balancing wear resistance and impact resistance. High-precision cages accurately separate each roller to prevent mutual collision and tilting, reserving sufficient lubrication space to ensure smooth lubricant entry into contact zones. Products are available in multiple precision grades, suited to different speed and accuracy requirements.

Products adopt international standard dimensions with excellent interchangeability. Comprehensive specifications cover bore diameters from 20mm to over 600mm, widely applied to vertical motors, marine propulsion systems, die-casting machinery, industrial automation equipment, heavy-duty gearboxes, crane slewing mechanisms and various heavy-load thrust equipment. The bearings adapt to high-speed operation, frequent start-stop, heavy-load and impact coexistence conditions.

Core Product Advantages

1. Cylindrical roller and flat raceway line contact structure withstands large unidirectional axial loads, with load capacity far exceeding thrust ball bearings of the same size;

2. Precision-ground and superfinished roller end faces combined with optimized cage designs effectively reduce sliding friction for high-speed operation;

3. Multiple structural types available (single-direction, double-direction, with aligning seat rings) for flexible adaptation to different load directions and installation requirements;

4. Precision heat treatment across all components provides high surface hardness with good core toughness, resisting wear and impact;

5. Superfinished raceways matched with graded rollers deliver low friction torque and minimal temperature rise for long-term continuous high-speed operation;

6. High-precision cages accurately guide roller motion for smooth, reliable operation and extended bearing service life;

7. Optimized lubrication channel design ensures smooth lubricant entry into contact zones, reducing friction heat generation;

8. Standard external dimensions ensure great interchangeability to replace imported counterparts and lower procurement costs.

Typical Application Scenarios

Vertical motors and generators; Marine propulsion systems (main shaft thrust bearings, steering gears); Die-casting machinery and injection molding machines; Industrial automation equipment (heavy-duty rotary tables, indexing units); Heavy-duty gearboxes and transmissions; Crane slewing mechanisms and winches; Wind turbine main shafts and pitch systems; Mining hoists and winches.

Quality Assurance

NMT Cylindrical Thrust Roller Bearings are manufactured with premium refined bearing alloy steel. Incoming inspection includes chemical composition testing and metallurgical sampling inspection to eliminate material defects at source. Roller blanks are processed by precision rolling and cutting, followed by sequential rough grinding, finish grinding and superfinishing with strict control over roller profile precision, end face parallelism and surface roughness. Stress relief annealing is conducted after rough machining of shaft washer and housing washer forgings to eliminate internal stress, followed by quenching and low-temperature stabilization treatment to reduce dimensional variation risks under long-term heavy loads.

All rollers pass flaw detection screening to remove parts with cracks and dents. All components go through high-pressure cleaning and dust-free drying before assembly in clean workshops. Appropriate grease is filled according to practical operating conditions and lubrication methods. After assembly, finished bearings undergo axial load endurance testing, high-speed rotation testing, temperature rise testing and friction torque testing. All unqualified products are eliminated completely to guarantee stable and consistent performance of bulk goods and supply reliable solutions for heavy-load thrust equipment.

Product Range

Cylindrical thrust roller bearing standard series (single-direction, double-direction, with aligning seat rings); Bore diameters from 20mm to over 600mm; Copper alloy and steel cage options.

Brand Strength

NMT focuses on R&D and manufacturing of precision cylindrical thrust roller bearings. Targeting common industry challenges of large axial loads, high-speed operation and low friction requirements in vertical motors, marine propulsion, die-casting machinery and industrial automation, NMT continuously optimizes roller end face structure, cage design and heat treatment technology. Through precision grinding of roller end faces and optimized cage designs, NMT effectively reduces sliding friction and temperature rise at high speeds. The bearings effectively solve common problems of ordinary thrust bearings such as insufficient axial load capacity, severe high-speed heat generation and cage wear. NMT products reduce risks of bearing failure on heavy-load equipment, improve limiting speed and long-term operational stability, and support stable continuous operation of various heavy-load thrust devices.
