NMT Precision Thrust Ball Bearings High-Speed High-Precision Long-Life Precision Thrust Ball Bearings For Vertical Motors, Automotive Steering Systems, Robots And Heavy Machinery
I. About NMT
Japan NMT is a brand dedicated to the R&D and manufacturing of precision bearings. The product portfolio covers deep groove ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings, spherical roller bearings, self-aligning ball bearings, thrust ball bearings, crossed roller bearings, thin-section bearings, cylindrical thrust roller bearings, mounted spherical plain bearings and other full-series products. Guided by the core philosophy of "systematic precision engineering," NMT integrates advanced technologies in materials science, precision machining and tribology into the design and manufacturing of various bearing types, widely applied in industrial robots, machine tool spindles, automotive steering systems, vertical motors and heavy machinery.
II. Product Introduction
Various rotating equipment requiring axial load capacity——such as vertical motors, automotive steering systems, industrial robot rotary axes, heavy-duty rotary tables and machine tool indexing plates——are primarily subjected to axial thrust during operation. Some conditions also involve high speeds and require smooth, low-noise operation. Ordinary deep groove ball bearings have limited axial load capacity. When facing larger axial loads, they cannot form a stable oil film at the contact angle, leading to rapid friction temperature rise and accuracy decline. While angular contact ball bearings can withstand certain axial loads, their load capacity is insufficient under pure axial conditions, and costs are higher.
Most thrust equipment requires bearings to maintain low friction, low heat generation and high precision at high speeds while withstanding large axial loads. Frequent start-stop cycles require bearings with stable starting torque and smooth operation. The industry urgently requires thrust bearing products with high axial load capacity, low temperature rise at high speeds, smooth operation and reasonable cost.
NMT Thrust Ball Bearings employ a structure with steel balls contacting flat raceways or grooved raceways, capable of withstanding single-direction or double-direction axial loads. Bearings are available in multiple structural types——single-direction thrust ball bearings, double-direction thrust ball bearings and self-aligning seat ring thrust ball bearings——adapting to different load directions and installation requirements. Cages are manufactured from high-strength steel, copper alloy or engineering plastics, adapting to grease lubrication and oil lubrication methods.
Rolling elements are precision-machined from high-purity bearing alloy steel, subject to strict micron-level dimensional sorting, with surfaces superfinished for low friction coefficient and minimal temperature rise. Shaft washers and housing washers undergo forging, precision grinding and superfinishing. All components receive quenching heat treatment and long-term low-temperature stabilization processing to achieve sufficient surface hardness, ensuring long-term running accuracy. Flat raceways or grooved raceways are superfinished to achieve high surface roughness grades for smooth, low-noise operation.
Products adopt international standard dimensions with excellent interchangeability. Comprehensive specifications cover bore diameters from 10mm to over 300mm, widely applied to vertical motors, automotive steering systems, industrial robot rotary axes, heavy-duty rotary tables, machine tool indexing plates, crane slewing mechanisms and various equipment requiring axial load capacity. The bearings adapt to high-speed operation, frequent start-stop, pure axial loads and limited impact coexistence conditions.
Core Product Advantages
Steel balls contacting flat or grooved raceways withstand single-direction or double-direction axial loads with high axial load capacity;
Multiple structural types available (single-direction, double-direction, with self-aligning seat ring) for flexible adaptation to different load directions and installation requirements;
High-precision superfinished rolling elements deliver low friction coefficient and minimal temperature rise for high-speed continuous operation;
Precision heat treatment across all components provides high surface hardness and good wear resistance for stable long-term running accuracy;
Flat or grooved raceways superfinished for low surface roughness, smooth operation and low noise;
Multiple cage material options (steel, copper alloy, engineering plastics) adapting to different lubrication methods and speed requirements;
Self-aligning seat ring type compensates installation errors and shaft misalignment, reducing installation difficulty;
Standard external dimensions ensure great interchangeability to replace imported counterparts and lower procurement costs.
Typical Application Scenarios
Vertical motors and generator axial positioning; Automotive steering systems (rack-and-pinion steering, electric power steering); Industrial robot rotary axes and wrist joints; Heavy-duty rotary tables and indexing plates; Machine tool spindle axial positioning; Crane slewing mechanisms and winches; Marine propulsion system thrust bearings; Aerospace actuators and control surface drives.
Quality Assurance
NMT Thrust Ball Bearings are manufactured with premium refined bearing alloy steel. Incoming inspection includes chemical composition testing and metallurgical sampling inspection to eliminate material defects at source. Rolling element blanks are precision-machined, followed by sequential rough grinding, finish grinding and superfinishing with strict control over sphericity error and surface roughness. Stress relief annealing is conducted after rough machining of shaft washer and housing washer forgings to eliminate internal stress, followed by quenching and low-temperature stabilization treatment to reduce dimensional variation risks under long-term operation.
All rolling elements pass flaw detection screening to remove parts with cracks and dents. All components go through high-pressure cleaning and dust-free drying before assembly in clean workshops. Appropriate grease is filled according to practical operating conditions and lubrication methods. After assembly, finished bearings undergo axial load endurance testing, high-speed rotation testing, temperature rise testing and friction torque testing. All unqualified products are eliminated completely to guarantee stable and consistent performance of bulk goods and supply reliable thrust ball bearing solutions for axial load equipment.
Product Range
Thrust ball bearing standard series (single-direction 51000 type, double-direction 52000 type, self-aligning seat ring 53000 type); Bore diameters from 10mm to over 300mm; Steel, copper alloy and engineering plastic cage options; Adaptable to grease and oil lubrication.
Brand Strength
Japan NMT focuses on R&D and manufacturing of precision thrust ball bearings. Targeting common industry challenges of axial loads, high-speed operation and low-noise requirements in vertical motors, automotive steering systems, robots and heavy machinery, NMT continuously optimizes raceway structure, rolling element precision and heat treatment technology. NMT thrust ball bearings, with high precision, low friction and long life, effectively solve common problems of ordinary bearings such as insufficient axial load capacity, severe high-speed heat generation and relatively high running noise. NMT products reduce risks of bearing failure on various axial load equipment, improve long-term operational stability and reliability, and support stable continuous operation of various thrust equipment.
