NMT Spherical Roller Bearings Self-Aligning Heavy-Duty Spherical Roller Bearings For Fans, Ball Mills And Vibrating Screens
Spherical roller bearings feature double-row spherical rollers matched with spherical outer raceway, delivering powerful self-aligning capability to compensate coaxiality errors caused by shaft bending, base deformation and installation misalignment. The line-contact roller structure supports ultra-large radial load with moderate axial load capacity, serving as critical bearings for fan main shafts, ball mills, rotary kilns, vibrating screens, crushers, large reducers and mining belt pulleys. Three cage types (CA, CC, MB) are available for general service, heavy vibration and high-temperature heavy-load conditions separately.
Compared with cylindrical roller bearings, spherical roller bearings tolerate major installation misalignment and shaft deflection to prevent bearing seizure and unilateral wear induced by shaft inclination. Versus tapered roller bearings, they require no precise axial clearance adjustment and excel in vibration fatigue resistance. The main drawback is low limiting rotational speed, making them unsuitable for high-speed precision rotating shafts. They are dedicated to heavy industrial equipment characterized by heavy load, violent vibration, frame deformation and difficult precision alignment.
Mine mills, industrial fans and linear vibrating screens operate under severe vibration, alternating impact, foundation settlement deformation and main shaft deflection. Ordinary bearings lack self-aligning function; shaft deflection leads to eccentric roller compression on raceways, triggering rapid raceway pitting, roller fragmentation and bearing seizure shutdown. Lubricating grease is prone to splashing off under vibration for inferior bearings, resulting in cage fatigue fracture, mill production halt, fan casing collision damage and overall overhaul of vibrating screens with tremendous production loss and maintenance expense.
NMT spherical roller bearings cover full series of 222, 223, 230, 231, 232, 240, 241. CA brass cages, CC stamped steel cages and MB machined solid cages are fully available, along with lubrication versions with oil grooves/holes and sealed variants. High-toughness carburized bearing steel with overall quenching and surface hardening is adopted. Standard international dimensions enable direct replacement of imported spherical roller bearings such as FAG and SKF for maintenance and new assembly of heavy-duty equipment in mining, metallurgy, power and building materials industries.
Long-term high-load operation inevitably causes foundation settlement and permanent bending deformation of main shafts for heavy industrial equipment. Conventional spherical roller bearings suffer insufficient spherical machining accuracy and weak anti-fatigue cages, leading to premature failure under vibration, failing to meet year-round continuous operation requirements of cement plants, mines and thermal power plants. The market demands heavy-duty spherical roller bearings with high-precision spherical surfaces, vibration fatigue resistance and long-term lubrication performance.
NMT conducts high-precision grinding for outer ring spherical surfaces with strict roundness control, achieving maximum 1.5° self-aligning compensation angle for even force distribution even under shaft bending and base inclination. Double-row symmetrical spherical rollers undergo refined grouping and grinding with unified length and radian to avoid overload wear of single-row rollers. CC stamped steel cages fit stable vibration conditions of fans and general conveyors; solid CA brass cages are applied for high-frequency alternating impact scenarios of vibrating screens and crushers to resist fatigue cracking. Models with oil holes and grooves support online grease replenishment for long-cycle maintenance of mills and rotary kilns.
Inner and outer rings are treated with quenching and tempering stabilization to reduce thermal deformation during high-temperature operation. Thickened dust-proof sealing options block coal powder and ore debris from invading raceways for dusty harsh conditions. All finished bearings pass self-aligning performance inspection, radial load durability test and vibration fatigue bench test to eliminate defective products with out-of-round spherical surfaces, roller dimension deviation and insufficient cage rigidity for stable long-term operation under deformation conditions.
Core Product Advantages
Spherical outer ring + double-row spherical rollers realize excellent self-aligning performance to compensate shaft deformation and installation misalignment and prevent eccentric bearing damage.
Double-row line-contact roller structure provides outstanding heavy radial load capacity for continuous heavy compression and alternating impact loads.
Three cage types for flexible selection: cost-effective steel cages and fatigue-resistant solid brass cages for high-frequency vibration.
Optional oil groove & hole structure enables online grease refueling for long-cycle uninterrupted production of large mills.
Deep-quenched bearing components deliver wear and corrosion resistance under high temperature, dust and humid harsh environments.
Standard universal dimensions achieve direct interchange with imported bearings for easy equipment renovation and maintenance replacement.
Large self-aligning margin adapts to deformation-prone equipment such as vibrating screens and rotary kilns.
Factory vibration fatigue durability inspection greatly reduces unexpected shutdown risks of heavy industrial equipment.
Typical Application Scenarios
Support bearings for cement ball mills, rod mills and rotary kiln rollers; main shaft support for induced draft fans, forced draft fans and desulfurization fans in power plants; mining vibrating screens, linear screens, crushers and belt pulleys; metallurgical rolling mills, large heavy-duty gear reducers and bucket-wheel stacker-reclaimers; building material drying equipment, sand making machines and vertical mill main bearings; large paper machine rollers and marine heavy-duty transmission shafts.
Quality Assurance
NMT implements full steady-state process for heavy-duty spherical roller bearings: normalized forging blanks to refine grain structure; form grinding and mirror superfinishing for inner and outer spherical raceways; graded selection of spherical rollers to balance load on double rows; pulsating fatigue impact test for cages to verify service life under vibration; finished bearings are grouped by internal clearance (C0/C3/C4) according to working conditions, with extra large-clearance models for vibrating equipment to release vibration stress. High-temperature variants adopt additional stress relief tempering to restrain thermal deformation. Delivered bearings feature smooth spherical surfaces and uniform load distribution to withstand static ultra-heavy load and buffer high-frequency vibration impact for all-weather continuous operation of heavy industry equipment.

Brand Strength
NMT Spherical Roller Bearings by NMT Japan target three typical failure modes of vibration-prone heavy industry bearings: eccentric wear caused by poor alignment, cage fracture under vibration and spherical deformation at high temperature. Upgrades of spherical superfinishing, roller matching technology and high-strength cage structural design greatly improve bearing self-aligning stability, vibration fatigue life and high-temperature dimensional stability. It helps mining, cement and thermal power enterprises cut bearing replacement frequency and avoid substantial revenue losses from heavy equipment shutdown.
