NMT Tapered Roller Bearings Heavy-Duty Compressive Tapered Roller Bearings For Axles, Gearboxes & Construction Machinery

Tapered roller bearings adopt an integrated structure of tapered rollers and tapered raceways. The inclined roller arrangement withstands heavy combined radial load and unidirectional axial load. They are generally installed in pairs in back-to-back or face-to-face layout to limit bidirectional axial displacement of the shaft system, featuring outstanding resistance to impact and overturning load, with much higher load capacity than ball bearings of the same size. They are ideal for heavy-load, bumpy and alternating force conditions, serving as core load-bearing bearings for commercial vehicle front & rear axles, differentials, gearboxes, wheel reducers, loaders, excavators, mine crushers and large heavy-duty reducers.

Main model classification: 30200 standard light taper series, 32200 thickened reinforced series, 32000 narrow thin taper series, 32900 ultra-thin taper series, 329000 large heavy-duty series. Assembly types include single-row tapered roller bearings, double-row tapered roller bearings and four-row tapered roller bearings. Four-row bearings are mainly used for super-heavy loads such as hot rolling rolls and vertical roller mills.

Compared with cylindrical roller bearings, they bear axial force to adapt to axial thrust of axles and gearboxes. Versus spherical roller bearings, they feature compact structure, adjustable preload and precise control of transmission backlash. The main limitation is low limiting speed, unsuitable for long-term high-speed operation; paired installation is mandatory since a single bearing cannot restrain axial displacement independently.

Heavy-duty truck axles, construction machinery axle housings and mine reduction equipment operate under long-term bumping impact, axial thrust from heavy-load climbing, mud & sand intrusion and contamination of gear oil with metal wear debris. Inferior tapered roller bearings suffer large taper deviation of rollers and rough grinding of tapered raceways, triggering stress concentration and cracking under heavy load. Weak wear-resistant layer on the large rib leads to rapid spalling under axial impact, sharp enlargement of bearing clearance, abnormal noise on rear axles, gear tooth breakage and wheel play wobble. Poor oil seal material resists mud and sand corrosion poorly, allowing sand and gravel to indent rollers and spall raceways, resulting in axle overheating, vehicle deviation and walking mechanism jamming & breakdown of construction machinery, directly halting road construction and mine production with high costs for disassembly, maintenance and spare parts.

NMT tapered roller bearings cover full single-row sizes of 302, 320, 322 and 329, with customizable double-row and four-row heavy-duty models. Manufactured with high-purity carburized bearing steel, tapered rollers are precision ground after cold forging for unified taper angle, and spherical big ends fit ribs accurately. Super-finishing forming grinding is applied on inner and outer ring tapered raceways for even load distribution along contact lines. Plasma sprayed wear-resistant coating strengthens thrust ribs to resist friction from axial impact. Precision machining of oil seal grooves matches skeleton oil seals for dust and mud prevention. Produced strictly in accordance with national standard dimensions for direct replacement of original bearings for heavy-duty truck axles and construction machinery, suitable for complete vehicle assembly, axle overhaul and mine equipment maintenance replacement.

Commercial heavy trucks, off-road construction machinery and heavy mining equipment are upgraded toward large-tonnage heavy load, all-weather complex road conditions and long maintenance cycles. Conventional tapered roller bearings feature poor taper machining accuracy, insufficient rib wear resistance and weak sand & mud sealing performance, prone to roller cracking, rib wear and early failure from sand ingress under heavy impact. They fail to meet durability requirements for long-distance trunk transportation of heavy trucks, field operation of loaders and continuous heavy-load production of crushers. The market demands heavy-duty tapered roller bearings with high-precision tapered surfaces, strong impact resistance and wear-resistant ribs.

NMT tapered rollers are sorted and matched in complete sets with micron-level tolerance for taper angle and length of rollers in one set. Even preload clearance after paired assembly ensures smooth meshing of rear axle gears without impact noise. Spherical polishing on roller big ends forms spherical contact with ribs to drastically reduce friction during axial impact and avoid rib burning loss. Super-finishing of tapered raceways optimizes contact stress to prevent edge load spalling. Matched fluororubber oil seals resistant to mud and sand adapt to axle housing muddy conditions to block gravel impurities entering the bearing interior. Carburizing quenching + low-temperature tempering heat treatment ensures high surface hardness for wear resistance and sufficient core toughness for impact resistance to eliminate roller fracture under heavy load.

All finished bearings pass taper accuracy inspection, paired clearance calibration, impact durability bench test and mud sealing aging test to eliminate defective products with inaccurate taper, mismatched pairing clearance and insufficient wear resistance, guaranteeing stable durability for heavy-load traveling and transmission equipment.

Core Product Advantages

Tapered structure realizes combined bearing capacity for simultaneous radial and unidirectional axial load, adapting to axial thrust working conditions of axle gears.

Precision paired rollers deliver even clearance after paired installation, accurately controlling shaft axial play to reduce impact noise of gears.

Spherical grinding on roller ends enables flexible fitting with ribs to greatly reduce rib wear and ablation under axial impact.

Wear reinforcement treatment on ribs doubles service life under alternating axial force of mining and construction machinery.

Carburized steel features hard surface and tough core to avoid roller fracture and raceway corner chipping under heavy bumping load.

Standard mounting position for skeleton oil seals enhances dust and sand sealing performance for vehicle axle housing muddy environments.

Multiple specifications of single-row, double-row and four-row bearings cover light truck axles to heavy rolling mills and vertical mills.

Universal standard outer dimensions support direct interchange with original bearings for construction machinery and heavy-duty trucks.

Typical Application Scenarios

Front & rear axles, main reducers, differentials and hub bearings of heavy-duty trucks, semi-trailers and light trucks; wheel reducers and steering axle bearings for loaders, excavators, bulldozers and motor graders; main shaft bearings for automotive manual gearboxes, transfer cases and construction machinery gearboxes; reduction bearings for mine cone crushers, ball mills and vertical coal mills; four-row tapered roller bearings for large heavy-duty hardened gear reducers and metallurgical hot rolling rolls; axle bearings for agricultural machinery including tractors and harvesters.

Quality Assurance

NMT tapered roller bearings adopt carburized bearing steel with deep carburizing heat treatment to achieve qualified hardness on rolling working surfaces while retaining matrix toughness for resisting severe impact. Double-pass precision taper grinding on tapered rollers ensures high consistency of taper angle for uniform load distribution. Mirror machining on large inner ring rib arcs eliminates angular stress concentration. Precision finishing on outer ring outer diameter guarantees tight fit for interference assembly. Paired marking is completed before delivery for direct vehicle mounting without secondary manual matching on site. Brand Strength

NMT Japan addresses three critical drawbacks of ordinary tapered roller bearings: eccentric load cracking caused by poor taper accuracy, rib wear failure under axial impact and early failure from sand intrusion. Process upgrades including precision taper grinding of rollers, wear-resistant reinforced coating on ribs and factory-set paired matching improve bearing impact resistance, sealing adaptability and overall service life. We supply highly reliable heavy-duty bearings for axle manufacturers, heavy-duty truck repair shops, construction machinery parts distributors and mine equipment maintenance enterprises to reduce faults such as abnormal axle noise, wheel looseness and equipment breakdown due to heavy-load seizure, cutting maintenance replacement frequency and shutdown losses of large construction machinery.
