NMT Spherical Roller Bearings Heavy-Duty Self-Aligning Spherical Roller Bearings For Fans, Vertical Mills & Mine Crushers
Spherical roller bearings feature an outer ring spherical raceway and double-row symmetrical barrel roller structure with excellent self-aligning capacity. They compensate for coaxial deviation caused by shaft installation eccentricity, base deformation and shaft deflection, while bearing huge radial loads and bidirectional axial loads with strong resistance to vibration and alternating impact. As the most fault-tolerant roller bearing for heavy-duty equipment, they do not require precise centering installation and adapt to harsh conditions such as belt drive, cantilever rotating shafts and foundation settlement deformation. Widely used for core support of vertical cement mills, ball mills, centrifugal induced draft fans, mine crushers, rotary kilns, large gear reducers, steel sintering machines and paper press rolls.
Main model classification: 22200 medium-load general series, 22300 wide reinforced heavy-duty series, 23200 thickened wide bore series, 23300 extra-wide ultra-heavy-duty series. Structural types: CA brass solid cage, CC stamped steel cage, CAK tapered bore version for quick mounting and dismounting with adapter sleeves for shafts without shaft shoulders.
Compared with cylindrical roller bearings, they compensate for shaft bending and installation misalignment to avoid shaft burnout from eccentric load. Unlike tapered roller bearings requiring paired installation, a single bearing limits bidirectional axial movement to simplify assembly work drastically. The main limitation is low limiting rotational speed, unsuitable for high-speed spindle operation; roller end face friction and wear tend to occur under poor lubrication.
Cement production lines, mine crushing units and large industrial induced draft fans operate continuously under heavy dust, violent vibration, thermal deformation of frames and shaft eccentricity from belt tension. Inferior spherical roller bearings have rough barrel roller spherical machining with limited self-aligning angle, leading to overloading and crushing of single-side rollers under slight shaft deflection. Thin cages break and collapse under sustained vibration, causing roller shedding and seizure. Insufficient quenching hardness of inner and outer ring raceways leads to rapid fatigue pitting and large-area spalling under alternating loads. Lack of matched dust-proof seals allows coal dust and ore dust to mix with grease into abrasive paste, resulting in severe raceway wear within a short period. Consequences include heating and bore scoring of fan bearing seats, spindle runout of mills, emergency shutdown of crushers and huge economic losses from full production line suspension.
NMT spherical roller bearings cover all standard cylindrical bore and tapered bore specifications of 222, 223, 232 and 233 series, with complete CA brass solid cage and CC steel cage configurations. Manufactured with high-toughness carburized bearing steel, barrel rollers undergo superfinishing after integral forging for accurate spherical curvature matching the outer ring spherical raceway, achieving a maximum self-aligning angle of 1.5°. Inner and outer rings adopt integral quenching plus cryogenic stabilization treatment to extend contact fatigue life significantly. One-piece milling forming for brass cages delivers strong anti-vibration tear resistance, while multi-point riveting reinforces steel cages. Precision grinding on tapered bore surfaces enables fast locking and positioning with adapter sleeves. All dimensions comply with national standards for direct replacement of domestic and imported original spherical roller bearings for new equipment assembly and overhaul renovation of old mills and fans.
Large main equipment for cement, metallurgy, mining and power industries is upgraded toward long-cycle continuous operation, minimal maintenance downtime and lightweight frames prone to deformation. Conventional spherical roller bearings suffer poor spherical precision, weak cage vibration resistance and inadequate dustproof adaptability, prone to single-side overload failure, cage fracture and abrasive wear scrapping under eccentric shaft vibration. They cannot meet severe operating requirements including 24-hour continuous grinding of vertical mills, year-round uninterrupted air supply of boiler induced draft fans and impact crushing of jaw crushers. The market demands spherical roller bearings with high-precision spherical surfaces, strong seismic performance and long-term wear resistance.
3D spherical superfinishing on NMT barrel rollers ensures smooth self-aligning movement without jamming. When shaft deflection and offset occur, loads are evenly distributed to the full-circle rollers to eliminate fragmentation from concentrated stress. Solid brass cages feature optimized lubrication oil channels for excellent grease retention and reduced friction loss on roller end faces. Surface strengthening heat treatment on raceways resists abrasive wear from dust particles. Combined sealing schemes of labyrinth oil seals and skeleton oil seals are available to block ore powder and cement ash from entering bearing cavities. The raw material matrix retains high toughness to prevent inner ring cracking and roller chipping under intermittent impact loads of crushers.
All finished bearings pass spherical fitting inspection, bench test for self-aligning angle, vibration endurance fatigue test and dust protection aging verification to eliminate defective products with out-of-round spherical surfaces, insufficient cage strength and heat treatment defects, ensuring long-term stable trouble-free operation of heavy rotating equipment.
Core Product Advantages
Spherical self-aligning structure compensates for shaft bending, installation misalignment and frame deformation to prevent bearing and journal damage from eccentric load.
Double-row barrel roller composite bearing capacity withstands heavy radial and bidirectional axial loads simultaneously with outstanding impact and vibration resistance.
