NMT Tapered Roller Bearings Heavy-Duty Tapered Roller Bearings For Heavy Truck Axles & Gearboxes

Tapered roller bearings adopt a matching structure of tapered rollers and tapered raceways, which can withstand huge radial load and unidirectional axial load simultaneously. The axial mounting preload adjusts internal clearance to adapt to heavy-load impact and alternating bump stress. The bearing is of split structure; the inner assembly (rollers + cage + inner ring) can be separated from the outer ring for convenient assembly, maintenance and clearance adjustment. According to taper angle, products are divided into narrow-taper high-speed type, standard-taper balanced type and large-taper axial heavy-load type. Sealing types include open type and skeleton oil seal. Cages are mainly stamped steel and solid machined steel cages, plastic cages are rarely adopted to adapt to high-temperature heavy-load conditions. Widely applied to front/rear axles of heavy-duty trucks, gearboxes, differentials, loader wheel hubs, excavator travel mechanisms and mine conveying equipment, the core advantages are extreme load capacity, bump impact resistance, adjustable assembly clearance and long service life under harsh working conditions.

Main model classification: 32900 narrow-taper compact series, 32000 standard-taper main series, 32200 thickened heavy-duty series; Assembly feature: detachable split structure; Precision grades: P0 commercial vehicle general grade, P6 precision transmission grade; Clearance: factory standard clearance with adjustable preload clearance via on-site nuts.

Performance comparison: Compared with cylindrical roller bearings, it has built-in axial load capacity to simplify transmission structure without additional thrust bearings for axial positioning of axles and differentials. Compared with angular contact ball bearings, its rated load is multiplied with stronger resistance to gravel impact and heavy-load starting impact, yet lower limiting speed which is not suitable for ultra-high-speed spindles. Compared with spherical roller bearings, it features compact structural size and stronger axial positioning rigidity without self-aligning ability, hence higher requirements for shaft coaxiality during assembly. Shortcoming: High heat generation during continuous high-speed operation; dry lubrication for long hours easily causes roller ablation and seizure; excessive mounting preload accelerates raceway wear.

Heavy-duty freight trucks, engineering loaders and mining vehicles operate under long-term heavy-load starting, road bump impact, splashing mud and sand, high gearbox temperature and continuous long-distance driving. Inferior tapered roller bearings suffer from concentrated stress and roller edge chipping/fracture due to poor contour grinding accuracy of rollers. Insufficient quenching hardness of raceways leads to indentation and spalling under bump load. Thin cage plates tear and collapse under high-torque impact. Poor mud corrosion resistance of oil seals allows mud intrusion to dilute gear oil, directly resulting in axle abnormal noise, wheel hub overheating seizure, gearbox gear jumping, excessive differential clearance & gear knocking, vehicle breakdown and shutdown. These cause logistics delays and high maintenance costs for construction machinery.

NMT tapered roller bearings cover all mainstream specifications of 32900, 32000 and 32200 series, with sufficient stock for OEM replacement bearings for axles, special heavy-load bearings for gearboxes and dustproof sealed bearings for construction machinery. Made of refined carburizing bearing steel, inner/outer rings and rollers are fully quenched to achieve high surface hardness and sufficient core toughness for balanced wear resistance and impact resistance. Rollers adopt full crown crowning modification to avoid edge stress concentration and realize uniform force bearing under heavy load. Solid steel cages resist torque tearing to adapt to high-torque starting impact. Matched high-temperature & mud-resistant skeleton oil seals block mud, sand and dust from entering the gear oil chamber. The split standard structure fully conforms to OEM mounting dimensions of axles and gearboxes for maintenance replacement without modification of housing and shaft diameter.

Transmission components for heavy trucks and construction machinery are upgraded toward high load capacity, impact resistance, long oil change cycle and easy maintenance interchangeability. Low-grade tapered roller bearings suffer from shortened heat treatment process, non-crowned rollers and weak cage strength, leading to raceway pitting, roller fracture and bearing collapse after short-distance heavy-load operation and high vehicle failure rate. The market urgently needs heavy-duty tapered roller bearings with high-toughness heat treatment, crowned roller modification and high-strength steel cages.

NMT realizes ultra-large load bearing, stable operation under impact conditions and long-term sealing protection via three core processes: crowned roller grinding, deep carburizing quenching strengthening and high-strength steel cage stamping forming. Finished bearings pass load bearing test, impact durability test, mud spray sealing test and clearance verification to eliminate defective products with flawed rollers, insufficient raceway hardness and unqualified cage strength. It ensures long-distance stable operation of commercial vehicles and engineering equipment, reducing operational losses caused by roadside breakdown, axle housing overhaul and gear damage.

Core Product Advantages

Split tapered raceway structure bears dual heavy loads of radial and unidirectional axial force, adapting to axial force positioning of axle differentials.

Roller crown crowning machining eliminates edge stress concentration to prevent roller cracking and raceway spalling under full-load bump conditions.

Deep carburizing quenching delivers high surface hardness for wear resistance and high internal toughness to resist fracture under heavy impact.

All-steel cages eliminate melting and fracture failures of plastic cages under high temperature and high-torque impact.

Axial clearance can be freely adjusted via lock nuts to match axle assembly preload process with flexible calibration.

Thickened skeleton rubber oil seal prevents water ingress from muddy construction sites and protects internal gear oil cleanliness.

OEM-standard mounting dimensions enable direct replacement for bearings of heavy trucks, loaders and excavators for high disassembly & assembly efficiency during maintenance.

Compatible with high-low temperature grease to avoid oil thinning under high temperature for long-distance summer driving and grease solidification under low temperature in winter.

Typical Application Scenarios

Wheel hub bearings for front/rear axles of tractors, dump trucks and semi-trailers; Input & output shaft bearings for manual gearboxes and auxiliary gearboxes of heavy trucks; Support bearings for differentials and main reducer bevel gears of vehicles; Wheel hub & wheel edge bearings for wheel loaders and motor graders; Travel reducer bearings for small excavators; Support bearings for mine scraper conveyors and heavy-duty drums; Rear axle transmission bearings for large agricultural machinery.

Quality Assurance

NMT tapered roller bearings adopt deep carburizing quenching with uniform hardness and excellent impact toughness of raceways and rollers. Compatible with vehicle gear oil and extreme-pressure long-life grease, operating temperature ranges from -35℃ to 140℃, adapting to complex conditions including muddy national highway roads, mine gravel working conditions, continuous high temperature of gearboxes and cold winter transportation.

Brand Strength

NMT Japan solves three major pain points of ordinary tapered roller bearings: roller fracture under heavy impact, raceway rust & spalling caused by mud water ingress, and cage tearing & collapse under high torque. Core technologies including precision crowned roller machining, deep tough heat treatment and high-strength steel cage structural design develop heavy-duty tapered roller bearings specially for commercial vehicles and construction machinery. We supply bearings for axle manufacturers, gearbox suppliers, heavy-duty truck accessory distributors and construction machinery maintenance enterprises to improve vehicle load stability, extend maintenance cycle of axle bearings and reduce economic losses from truck breakdown and construction machinery shutdown.
