NMT NJ/NUP Series Cylindrical Roller Bearing, Heavy-Duty Shock-Resistant Bearing for Reducer Gearbox Main Shaft, High-Speed Cylindrical Roller Bearing for Mining Reducer Gear Drive Box
1. Typical Failures of Gearbox Reducer Under Severe Working Conditions
Hardened tooth surface reducers, planetary gearboxes, scraper conveyor reducers, bucket elevator decelerators, mining crusher gearboxes and winch reducers operate under long-term alternating cyclic loads, instant impact loads during startup and stop, and peak overload under full-load climbing. Gear meshing vibration leads to axial shaft float. Ordinary deep groove ball bearings cannot bear huge radial force, single rib bearings have weak axial limit capacity, causing continuous friction and overheating between rollers and ribs. Iron scraps from gear wear and carbonized oil impurities mix into lubricating oil, forming abrasive wear on raceways, resulting in raceway scratches and roller end spalling.
Continuous heavy-load operation causes heat accumulation inside bearings, reduced lubricant viscosity and broken oil film, triggering boundary friction between rollers and rings, sharp temperature rise, roller fracture, rib breakage and shaft seizure. Consequences include gear tooth breakage, drive shaft distortion and complete reducer shutdown. Defects of economical domestic NJ/NUP cylindrical roller bearings: inconsistent roller size causes local overload pitting; insufficient rib quenching hardness leads to edge cracking under axial force; stamped cage cracks under heavy impact; small bearing chamfer blocks lubricant circulation and heat dissipation; low-purity steel shortens fatigue life; single standard clearance causes seizure at high speed or excessive vibration at low speed.
Consequential damages: sudden reducer jamming burns driving motors, conveyor blockage, full mining production line shutdown, and safety hazards for hoisting machinery. Gearboxes are high-value core components with complicated disassembly and maintenance. Inferior bearings increase overhaul frequency, combining spare parts cost, labor cost and production loss to raise long-term operation expenses.
2. Product Positioning: High-Rigidity Rib-Type Cylindrical Roller Bearing, Shock-Resistant Long-Life Heavy-Duty Bearing Dedicated for Gearboxes
NMT NJ/NUP cylindrical roller bearings adopt split rib structure: NJ single rib realizes one-way axial positioning, NUP double integrated ribs limit bidirectional axial float of drive shafts to restrain gearbox shaft play. Six major upgrades including super-finished crowned rollers, graded roller assembly, solid brass/high-strength steel cage, large arc oil passage chamfer, high-purity bearing steel heat treatment and customized radial clearance deliver ultra-high radial load capacity, stable axial positioning, strong impact & vibration resistance, smooth heat dissipation, anti-abrasion performance and wide speed adaptability.
Compared with deep groove ball bearings: 260% higher radial load capacity, 3 times stronger instant impact resistance. Against ordinary NJ/NUP bearings: 80% higher roller profile precision, HRC8–12 harder rib surface for anti-cracking performance, 110% stronger cage impact resistance, 45% improved lubrication heat dissipation efficiency and over 130% longer fatigue service life. It eliminates common gearbox bearing faults such as overheating, roller breakage, rib collapse, axial float abnormal noise and abrasive wear failure, extends gearbox overhaul cycle, avoids secondary damage to gears and shafts, and cuts comprehensive maintenance cost for industrial transmission equipment.
3. Structural Classification & Gearbox Application Selection Guide
Two mainstream structures (NJ & NUP) matched with NU/N series for selection based on axial limit, load and rotating speed:
NJ type (single fixed rib + loose retaining ring): one-way axial positioning for high-speed input shafts, high-speed gear ends and compact small gearboxes, featuring low oil agitation resistance and excellent heat dissipation for high rotating speed.
NUP type (integrated double ribs): full bidirectional axial locking to eliminate left-right shaft play and bear bidirectional axial force, suitable for low-speed heavy-duty output shafts of reducers, crushers and winches to counteract bidirectional axial thrust from gear meshing.
Selection Suggestion:
Reducer high-speed input shaft & stable continuous operation: Stamped steel cage, C2 small clearance precision version to reduce high-speed vibration and heat
Mining crusher, elevator & winch heavy low-speed end: Solid machined brass cage, C3 large clearance heavy-duty version for startup impact resistance
Cement & gravel dusty gearbox with contaminated lubricant: Mirror polished roller end + strengthened rib quenching for better abrasive wear resistance
Frequent variable-frequency start-stop & alternating impact equipment: Thickened cage + crowned roller end to release impact stress concentration
Standard stock bore range: 30mm–220mm; customized oversized bearings, carburized strengthened bearings, stainless steel corrosion-resistant roller bearings and high-temperature tempered bearings are available on request.
4. Premium Raw Material & Integrated Heat Treatment Strengthening
Inner rings, outer rings and rolling rollers adopt vacuum remelted high-carbon chromium bearing steel with ultra-low oxygen content and fine dispersed non-metallic inclusions to avoid fatigue crack initiation and raceway spalling under cyclic heavy load. Inner & outer rings undergo integral quenching + low-temperature tempering, with local high-frequency quenching on ribs to maintain HRC62–65 surface hardness for outstanding wear resistance and anti-chipping performance under axial thrust.
Rollers adopt double-end superfinishing + logarithmic crowning to eliminate edge stress concentration and realize uniform load distribution along the roller length to prevent end overload burnout. Two cage options: high-precision stamped steel cage for high-speed scenarios reduces oil churning resistance for smooth lubrication; solid turned brass cage for heavy impact conditions features high structural strength, vibration & heat resistance to avoid deformation fracture in harsh gearboxes.
Enlarged arc chamfer on inner & outer ring oil passages allows smooth lubricant flow through roller-raceway contact surfaces to take away friction heat and prevent dry friction caused by high-temperature oil film breakdown. Factory preset radial clearance according to rotating speed and working temperature: extra expansion clearance for high-speed equipment, matched clearance for low-speed heavy-load machines to balance rigidity and vibration damping.
5. Precision Roller Machining & Vibration Reduction Optimization
All cylindrical rollers are graded by dimensional tolerance to ensure even load sharing around the bearing and prevent overload damage on individual rollers. Smooth arc transition on roller ends reduces friction with bearing ribs, lowering rib wear and high-temperature abnormal noise.
Super mirror grinding on inner & outer raceways forms low surface roughness for stable lubricating oil film and reduced direct metal contact wear. Integrated turning forming for NUP double ribs ensures firm bonding between ribs and inner ring base, higher rigidity than split ribs for strong axial deformation resistance in heavy-duty spindle positioning. NJ model matches circlip for easy disassembly to shorten gearbox maintenance time.
Enhanced overall structural rigidity reduces radial runout of assembled spindles for smoother gear meshing, lower gear vibration noise, reduced gear tooth pitting and synchronous service life extension for bearings and gears.
