NMT Cylindrical Roller Bearings, Heavy-Duty NU/NJ/NUP Cylindrical Roller Bearings for Rolling Mills Reducers Mines, High-Speed Motor Gearbox Roller Bearings Source Factory

1. Typical Failures of Ordinary Roller Bearings for Heavy-Duty Equipment

Work rolls of hot rolling mills bear continuous rolling heavy load and alternating impact load. Ordinary cylindrical rollers without crown modification lead to concentrated stress at both ends of rollers and sheet peeling, causing rapid bearing failure and huge loss from rolling line shutdown.

Low-speed heavy-load working condition of hard-tooth surface reducers. Poor precision rollers of inferior bearings transmit gear meshing vibration to bearings, resulting in fatigue pitting of rollers and raceways and cage fracture, further leading to reducer box oil leakage and gear tooth breakage.

Jaw crushers and cone crushers for mining operate with rock impact and massive dust. Bearings with weak seals suffer dust intrusion and abrasive wear between rollers and raceways. Rapid expansion of bearing clearance intensifies equipment eccentric vibration.

Axle bearings of diesel locomotives and heavy-duty freight cars bear vehicle weight and start-stop impact for a long time. Uneven hardness from heat treatment of ordinary bearings causes large-area peeling on rolling surfaces, abnormal driving noise and sharp axle temperature rise bringing potential driving safety hazards.

Bearing for reel of portal cranes and overhead traveling cranes in ports bears long-term static heavy load and lifting impact. Plastic deformation and depression occur on bearing raceways leading to jamming reel rotation and major safety risks for lifting operation.

Rotor bearings of high-power variable-frequency high-speed motors concentrate frictional heat at roller edges under high-speed rotation. Grease carbonizes and dries under high temperature resulting in bearing seizure and burnout of motor stator.

NMT strengthens heavy-load impact resistance and extends service life of bearings for heavy equipment via precision roller crown machining, high-strength steel selection and multi-rib structural design.

2. Core Advantages of NMT Cylindrical Roller Bearings

Five structural types for axial limit matching

NU inner ring without ribs: only bear pure radial load, separable inner and outer rings for thermal compensation installation of telescopic long shafts;

N outer ring double ribs: outer ring positioning, axially slidable inner ring suitable for thermal elongation compensation of long transmission shafts;

NF outer ring single rib: single-side positioning of outer ring to bear small unidirectional axial force;

NJ inner ring single rib: single-side rib on inner ring for unidirectional axial positioning, widely used for positioning shafts of reducers;

NUP inner ring rib + positioning ring: bidirectional axial locking to completely limit shaft play, the first choice for fixing main shafts of gearboxes.

Roller crown modification to eliminate edge stress damage

Logarithmic crown machining for all rolling elements realizes uniform load distribution along the full length of rollers. No concentrated stress peeling at sharp corners of both ends under heavy eccentric load, achieving over 40% longer service life compared with straight generatrix roller bearings.

Two high-strength material options

Carburized bearing steel version: excellent toughness against violent impact and collision, mainstream model for mining, rolling mills and construction machinery under impact load;

Integral quenched bearing steel version: high surface hardness and outstanding wear resistance for continuous stable load of high-speed motors and gearboxes.

Separable split structure for easy installation and maintenance

Separable inner ring, outer ring and roller assembly enable direct replacement of inner or outer ring without overall disassembly of shaft end components for large bearings, greatly shortening disassembly time and maintenance cost for heavy equipment.

Large clearance adapted for heavy-load heat generation

Standard C3/C4 heavy-duty clearance reserved for thermal expansion to avoid internal clearance tightening and seizure under low-speed heavy-load heat generation, shaft interference fit and high-temperature environment. Customizable C2 precision small clearance available for precision heavy-duty gearboxes on demand.

3. Main Application Scenarios

Metallurgical Steel Rolling Equipment

Bearings for hot rolling work rolls, cold rolling backup rolls, rolling mill gearboxes, straighteners and continuous casting machine conveyor rollers resist rolling impact heavy load and reduce unplanned shutdown of rolling mills.

Industrial Heavy-Duty Reducers

Input and output shaft bearings for planetary reducers, hard-tooth cylindrical gear reducers and heavy-duty worm gear boxes stably bear gear meshing load to prevent box vibration and oil leakage.

Mining Crushing Equipment

Main shaft bearings for jaw crushers, cone crushers, hammer crushers and mobile crushing stations withstand gravel impact and dust erosion to adapt to harsh mining conditions.

Rail Transit Vehicles

Bearings for locomotive axles, freight wheel sets and traction motors carry vehicle dead weight and driving impact to ensure stable and safe vehicle operation.

Lifting & Port Machinery

Slewing support bearings for gantry cranes, overhead cranes, winch reels and container quay cranes bear static heavy load and instantaneous impact load during lifting.

High-Power Industrial Motors

Bearings for high-voltage variable frequency motors, fan spindle motors and air compressor spindles provide sufficient radial rigidity to restrain rotor vibration and lower motor operating temperature rise.

Construction Machinery Supporting Parts

Bearings for excavator slewing supports, loader axle boxes and roller compactor vibrating shafts adapt to bumpy construction sites and intermittent impact operation.

4. Assembly, Operation & Maintenance Guidelines

Core principle for structural selection

Select NU/N bearings for long shafts requiring axial thermal expansion compensation; choose NJ bearings for unidirectional axial positioning; adopt NUP positioning bearings for full anti-play of shaft system. Wrong structural selection will cause axial shaft play and gear meshing dislocation.

Interference fit control

Heat mounting for bearing inner ring and shaft with heating temperature controlled at 110~130℃. Overheating is forbidden to avoid hardness reduction caused by tempering. Transition fit for outer ring and bearing housing, tight fit for heavy-load working conditions to prevent outer ring creep.

Differentiated lubrication

Low-speed heavy-load rolling mills and crushers: adopt extreme pressure lithium grease with replenishment every 800~1200 hours;

High-speed motors and high-speed gearboxes: apply circulating oil lubrication to take away frictional heat and prevent grease failure under high temperature.

Enhanced sealing for dusty environment

Install double protection of labyrinth seal and oil seal at bearing ends for steel plants and mining sites to block iron oxide and ore dust from scratching raceways and rollers.

Coaxiality control

Ensure coaxiality of two paired support bearings. Shaft bending and misalignment lead to overload on single-side rollers and early damage from unilateral wear peeling.
