Pairing property: Factory pre-screened and end-face ground fixed set; splitting and random mixing is not recommended
Precision class: P4 high-speed super precision grade
Material: Inner rings, outer rings and rolling elements adopt high-carbon chromium bearing steel (all-steel construction)
Seal structure: Open type, non-sealed
Note: CD represents 15° small contact angle focusing on maximum rotating speed with moderate axial rigidity. Outer-ring guided cage operates smoothly under ultra-high speed with small cage swing. DBA differs from suffix A universal single bearing. Matched grinding is finished in factory with consistent tolerance for mass standardized spindle assembly. DB back-to-back layout extends load action line, provides higher tilting stiffness and better performance under alternating eccentric milling loads. Open structure is not suitable for long-term high-speed grease lubrication; oil-air lubrication system is required. Without ceramic rolling elements, the bearing has no insulation property. Hybrid ceramic version should be selected for built-in motor spindles suffering shaft current to avoid electro-corrosion.
2 Structure & Operating Characteristics
Japan NMT 7014 CD/P4ADBA is premium all-steel 15° contact angle super precision angular contact ball bearing set with factory pre-matched DB back-to-back arrangement. Two single bearings of the set are selected from the same batch and processed with matched end-face grinding to guarantee uniform overall height tolerance. Inner rings, outer rings and steel balls are made of high-carbon chromium bearing steel with stabilized heat treatment to eliminate internal stress. Multi-stage mirror super-finishing is applied on raceways to reduce high-speed vibration and operational noise.
Solid outer-ring-guided cage delivers outstanding dynamic stability and balanced friction heat generation under ultra-high rotating speed. DB back-to-back layout extends effective support span, enhances tilting moment rigidity and enables outstanding capacity for combined radial, axial and overturning loads. As factory pre-finished set, machine builders can directly install with spacers and preload components without self-selection and pairing, greatly shortening spindle assembly and commissioning cycle. Open non-sealed design eliminates seal drag loss and supports stable continuous ultra-high speed finishing.
3 Core Performance Advantages
1. CD 15° contact angle with solid outer-ring guided cage: High limiting rotating speed, stable operation at high speed, suitable for long-duration high-speed cutting and finishing.
2. Mature all-steel construction: Stable performance, lower procurement cost than hybrid ceramic bearings, good versatility for spare parts.
3. ISO P4 super precision grade: Strict control over rotational runout to sustain long-term high-precision machining performance of spindles.
4. DBA factory DB pre-matched set: End-face co-grinding in factory ensures consistent dimension, eliminates on-site pairing work and fits mass production spindles.
5. DB back-to-back layout: Excellent tilting stiffness and strong resistance to eccentric & overturning loads, ideal for alternating milling loads.
6. Open non-sealed construction: No extra heat generated by seal friction, smooth lubricant circulation, perfectly matched with oil-air forced circulation lubrication.
7. Standardized 7014 outer dimension: Direct interchangeable with DB matched precision spindle bearings of other brands with identical size.
5 Assembly Specifications & Usage Guidelines
5.1 Assembly Environment & Operation Standards
P4 precision bearing sets must be assembled in constant-temperature dust-free clean workshops. Remove all burrs and metal debris on shaft and housing mating surfaces. Controlled thermal mounting method is recommended; open-flame heating is forbidden. Never strike bearing rings to prevent indentations on raceways.
Important reminder: 7014 CD/P4ADBA is factory pre-matched DB set. The complete set should be used integrally. Splitting and mixing single units with other bearings will degrade overall precision.
5.2 Pairing & Preload Instructions
Supply condition: Two single bearings combined into fixed DB back-to-back set with finished end-face grinding, delivered as whole assembly.
Fixed layout: DB back-to-back, DF or tandem arrangement cannot be modified on site.
Selection tips:
Alternating milling load, overturning moment, mass spindle assembly, no severe shaft current risk → Prefer 7014 CD/P4ADBA all-steel DB pre-matched set;
Alternating milling load, electro-corrosion risk, complete DB set solution for mass production → Choose 7014 CD/HCP4ADGB hybrid ceramic DB set;
Flexible arrangement of DB/DF/DT required on site → Select 7014 CD/P4AQBCC all steel universal single bearing;
Bidirectional axial load, preference for face-to-face layout → Adopt 7014 CD/P4ADGC DF matched bearing set.
Recommended preload: Light preload for ultra-high speed finishing; standard preload for medium-low speed continuous milling. Heavy preload with long-time operation near limiting DN is prohibited.
Selection reference:
① Alternating milling, anti-overturning capacity, mass assembly, no shaft current →7014 CD/P4ADBA
② Alternating milling, anti-overturning capacity, electro-corrosion risk, complete DB set →7014 CD/HCP4ADGB
③ Flexible free pairing required, multiple layouts available →7014 CD/P4AQBCC
④ Bidirectional axial load, DF face-to-face set required →7014 CD/P4ADGC
5.3 Lubrication Matching Scheme
No pre-filled grease. Oil-air forced circulation lubrication is mandatory for long continuous ultra-high speed operation. Long-term grease lubrication is not recommended because lubricant tends to carbonize under high temperature. High-precision filters shall be installed in lubrication pipelines; hard foreign particles will scratch mirror raceway surfaces. Mixing lubricants of different brands or base oil categories is forbidden.
5.4 Speed Parameter Note
Outer-ring guided cage adapts to continuous operation within ultra-high DN range. The complete machine shall be equipped with efficient cooling system and sufficient speed safety margin to avoid lubricant deterioration caused by persistent high temperature. Open bearings have no built-in dust shield; bearing housing must be designed with reliable external sealing against dust and cutting fluid to prevent abrasive damage to steel balls and raceways.
6 Daily Maintenance & Fault Troubleshooting
Carry out multi-stage low-speed running-in after assembly, continuously monitor temperature rise and vibration indicators. Only raise rotating speed to rated high speed after all data stabilize. Regularly inspect integrity of external housing sealing to block dust and cutting fluid ingress.
Continuously supply clean lubricant and eliminate dry friction caused by oil shortage. When steady abnormal noise, rapid temperature rise or growing vibration occurs, check sequentially: lubricant cleanliness, preload setting, assembly coaxiality, bearing installation direction, external overload impact, foreign matter entering raceway. Common failure modes of all-steel precision bearings include abrasive wear, excessive assembly stress, improper preload and insufficient lubrication. Regular temperature and vibration monitoring enables early detection of incipient bearing fatigue damage.
