Material: Inner rings, outer rings and rolling elements adopt high-carbon chromium bearing steel (all-steel construction)

Seal structure: Open type, non-sealed

Note: CD stands for 15° small contact angle featuring excellent limiting speed and moderate axial rigidity. Outer-ring guided cage runs smoothly at ultra-high speed with low vibration and temperature rise. Suffix BB differs from DBA non-preloaded set. Light preload is accurately controlled via factory end grinding. Customers can assemble directly without calculating spacer thickness, ideal for long-duration ultra-high speed light cutting. DB back-to-back layout expands effective support span and improves resistance to overturning and eccentric loads. Open design cannot sustain long-term high-speed grease lubrication; oil-air lubrication system is mandatory. Without ceramic rolling elements, the bearing has no insulation capacity. Hybrid ceramic version should be selected for built-in motor spindles exposed to shaft current to prevent electro-corrosion on raceways.

2 Structure & Operating Characteristics

Japan NMT 7014 CD/P4ADBB is premium all-steel 15° contact angle super precision angular contact ball bearing set, factory pre-ground DB back-to-back unit with preset light preload. Two single bearings from identical production batch are matched and end-face ground, light preload parameter locked at factory with consistent overall height tolerance. Inner rings, outer rings and steel balls are made of high-carbon chromium bearing steel with stabilized heat treatment eliminating internal stress. Multi-stage mirror super-finishing on raceways reduces high-speed vibration and running noise.

Solid outer-ring-guided cage achieves superior dynamic stability within ultra-high DN range and low friction heat generation. DB back-to-back arrangement extends load action line and enhances tilting moment rigidity. Factory preset light preload removes spacer calculation and grinding work for machine manufacturers, suitable for mass production high-speed engraving & milling and finishing spindles. Open non-sealed design eliminates seal drag loss and extra temperature rise, supporting continuous long-hour ultra-high speed finishing.

3 Core Performance Advantages

1. CD 15° contact angle with solid outer-ring guided cage: High limiting rotating speed, stable high-speed operation and outstanding temperature control for non-stop long-term finishing.

2. BB factory preset light preload DB set: Preload calibrated at factory, no on-site spacer adjustment required, shortening spindle assembly cycle and ensuring consistent performance among batches.

3. Mature all-steel construction: Stable and reliable performance, lower procurement cost than hybrid ceramic bearings with good spare part compatibility.

4. ISO P4 super precision grade: Strict control over radial and axial runout to maintain long-term high-precision machining capability of spindles.

5. DB back-to-back layout: Excellent resistance to eccentric and overturning loads, capable of handling complex alternating loads generated during milling.

6. Open non-sealed construction: Free of seal friction loss, smooth lubricant circulation, fully compatible with oil-air forced circulation lubrication system.

7. Standardized 7014 outer dimension: Direct interchangeable with other brands’ 7014 series DB precision spindle bearings of the same size.

5 Assembly Specifications & Usage Guidelines

5.1 Assembly Environment & Operation Standards

P4 precision bearing sets must be assembled in constant-temperature dust-free clean workshops. Remove all burrs and metal debris on shaft and housing mating surfaces. Controlled thermal mounting method is recommended; open-flame heating is forbidden. Never strike bearing rings to prevent indentations on raceways.

Important reminder: 7014 CD/P4ADBB is factory end-ground DB set with preset light preload. Complete set assembly is preferred. Splitting single bearings and pairing randomly with other bearings will destroy original preload and precision, random mixing is prohibited.

5.2 Pairing & Preload Instructions

Supply condition: Two single bearings combined into fixed DB back-to-back set with finished end grinding and preset light preload.

Fixed layout: DB back-to-back, DF or tandem arrangement cannot be modified on site.

Selection tips:

Long-term ultra-high speed light cutting & finishing, mass spindle production → Prefer 7014 CD/P4ADBB light preload DB set;

Combination of high speed and medium-load milling requiring standard preload → Choose 7014 CD/P4ADBC standard preload DB set;

Independent preload adjustment and flexible spacer configuration needed → Select 7014 CD/P4ADBA DB set without preset preload;

Shaft current exists and electro-corrosion prevention required → Choose 7014 CD/HCP4ADFB hybrid ceramic light preload DB set.

Selection reference:

① Long-term ultra-high speed finishing, low temperature rise demand, mass assembly →7014 CD/P4ADBB

② High speed plus medium-load milling, general machining conditions →7014 CD/P4ADBC

③ Independent preload tuning, flexible scheme required →7014 CD/P4ADBA

④ Ultra-high speed operation with shaft current risk →7014 CD/HCP4ADFB

5.3 Lubrication Matching Scheme

No pre-filled grease. Oil-air forced circulation lubrication is mandatory for long continuous ultra-high speed operation. Long-term grease lubrication under continuous high speed is not recommended, lubricant tends to carbonize under high temperature. High-precision filters shall be installed in lubrication pipelines; hard foreign particles will scratch mirror raceway surfaces. Mixing lubricants of different brands or base oil categories is forbidden.

5.4 Speed Parameter Note

Outer-ring guided cage adapts to continuous operation within ultra-high DN range. The complete machine shall be equipped with efficient cooling system and sufficient speed safety margin to avoid lubricant deterioration caused by persistent high temperature. Open bearings have no built-in dust shield; bearing housing must be designed with reliable external sealing against dust and cutting fluid to prevent abrasive damage to steel balls and raceways.

6 Daily Maintenance & Fault Troubleshooting

Carry out multi-stage low-speed running-in after assembly, continuously monitor temperature rise and vibration indicators. Only raise rotating speed to rated high speed after all data stabilize. Regularly inspect integrity of external housing sealing to block dust and cutting fluid ingress.

Continuously supply clean lubricant and eliminate dry friction caused by oil shortage. When steady abnormal noise, rapid temperature rise or growing vibration occurs, check sequentially: lubricant cleanliness, assembly coaxiality, bearing installation direction, external overload impact, foreign matter entering raceway.

Common failure causes of all-steel precision bearings include abrasive wear by foreign particles, excessive assembly stress, insufficient lubrication and long-term overload operation. Regular online monitoring of temperature and vibration enables early detection of incipient bearing fatigue damage and prevents unexpected spindle shutdown.
