Note: CE stands for 25° contact angle delivering higher axial rigidity than 15° contact angle bearings, suitable for milling applications under moderate axial load. Solid inner-ring guided cage runs stably within medium-to-high DN range and resists alternating loads. The HC hybrid ceramic design utilizes insulating silicon nitride balls to cut off shaft current and eliminate electrocorrosion pitting on raceways of built-in motor spindles.
AQ refers to light preload setting. Compared with standard preload, it generates lower heat and achieves higher limiting speed, ideal for high-speed finishing with stable cutting load. BCA represents DB back-to-back arrangement, which features equivalent wider supporting span, superior radial rigidity and stronger resistance to overturning moment compared with DF face-to-face configuration.
It adopts standard outer ring without built-in oil passages, belonging to general basic matched bearing, suitable for spindle designs equipped with independent external oil-air supply rings. Factory pre-ground dual set comes with preset preload and can be mounted directly without on-site spacer grinding and preload adjustment. Open structure fits oil-air forced lubrication and circulating oil lubrication, long-duration high-speed grease lubrication is not recommended.
2 Structure & Operating Characteristics
Japan NMT 7014 CE/HCP4AQBCA is premium hybrid ceramic 25° contact angle, light preload DB back-to-back super precision matched dual angular contact ball bearing of 7014 series. Inner and outer rings are made of high-carbon chromium bearing steel with stabilized heat treatment to eliminate residual stress. Multi-stage mirror super-finishing on raceways reduces vibration amplitude and running noise during high-speed rotation.
Rolling elements adopt high-purity silicon nitride ceramic balls with much lower density than steel balls. Centrifugal force is greatly reduced at high rotating speed, friction heat is effectively controlled, and continuous limiting speed exceeds equivalent all-steel matched bearings under same preload level.
Equipped with solid inner-ring-guided cage featuring sufficient structural rigidity to withstand alternating cutting loads during finishing process. Supplied as two-piece matched set with factory end-face grinding, fixed DB layout and preset light preload. The effective supporting width is enlarged, delivering excellent angular stiffness and outstanding capacity against overturning moment and spindle deflection.
Insulating ceramic balls block shaft current transmission, serving as standard mature solution to avoid electrocorrosion for built-in motor spindles. Standard outer ring without built-in oil passages fits traditional spindle structure with external oil-air supply rings and boasts excellent component versatility.
Each matched set passes comprehensive factory running-in inspection with strictly controlled rotational runout, suitable for long-hour continuous high-speed mold finishing and non-ferrous metal cavity machining to guarantee stable spindle precision.
3 Core Performance Advantages
1. CE 25° contact angle with solid inner-ring guided cage: Sufficient axial rigidity, withstand moderate alternating milling loads and operate smoothly at medium and high speed, applicable for mold and aluminum alloy finishing.
2. HC silicon nitride ceramic rolling element insulation solution: Block shaft current and avoid electrocorrosion pitting on raceways of built-in motor spindles, greatly extending bearing service life.
3. Factory preset AQ light preload: Lower friction heat than standard preload and support higher continuous rotating speed, matching high-speed finishing with stable load demand.
4. BCA DB back-to-back pairing layout: Wider equivalent supporting span, superior radial rigidity and anti-overturning capacity compared with DF configuration, enhancing spindle anti-deformation performance.
5. Factory pre-ground matched dual bearing: Light preload parameters pre-set, ready for direct installation without on-site spacer grinding and preload tuning.
6. ISO P4 super precision grade: Strictly control radial and axial runout to maintain long-term high-precision cutting performance of spindles.
7. Open non-sealed construction: Zero seal friction loss, perfectly compatible with oil-air forced lubrication and circulating oil lubrication systems.
8. Standard universal outer ring structure: No built-in lubrication holes with strong versatility, directly compatible with existing spindle designs with external oil supply rings for convenient retrofitting.
5 Assembly Specifications & Usage Guidelines
5.1 Assembly Environment & Operation Standards
P4 precision matched dual bearings must be assembled in constant-temperature dust-free clean workshops. Remove all burrs and metal debris on shaft and housing mating surfaces. Controlled thermal mounting method is recommended; open-flame heating is forbidden. Never strike bearing rings to prevent indentations on raceways.
Important reminder: 7014 CE/HCP4AQBCA is factory matched dual bearing set. Splitting and random cross-matching between different sets are strictly prohibited. Splitting will invalidate matching accuracy and cause severe vibration and temperature rise. Assemble the whole set integrally; single bearing shall not be used independently. Confirm DB back-to-back installation orientation and avoid incorrect DF assembly.
5.2 Pairing & Preload Instructions
Supply condition: Two-piece set in DB back-to-back layout, pre-ground on end faces with preset AQ light preload.
Layout cannot be modified on site; DF face-to-face arrangement requires corresponding AQGA suffix dual bearing model.
Selection tips:
High-speed finishing, stable load, low temperature rise & high rotating speed priority, spindle with external oil supply ring, strong anti-overturning rigidity and anti-electrocorrosion demand → Prioritize 7014 CE/HCP4AQBCA;
Working conditions with heavy impact load requiring higher axial rigidity without pursuing extreme rotating speed → Choose dual bearing with standard preload BCA suffix;
Spindle housing designed for direct outer ring oil-air supply requiring L lubrication holes → Select AQBALCA model.
Selection reference:
① Light preload DB set, no outer ring holes, high-speed finishing anti-electrocorrosion →7014 CE/HCP4AQBCA
② Light preload DF set, no outer ring holes →7014 CE/HCP4AQGA
③ Light preload DB set, outer ring with oil-air holes →7014 CE/HCP4AQBALCA
④ Standard preload DF set, no outer ring holes →7014 CE/HCP4ADGA
5.3 Lubrication Matching Scheme
No pre-filled grease. Oil-air forced circulation lubrication or circulating oil lubrication system is recommended; long-duration high-speed grease lubrication is not advised. High-precision filters shall be installed in lubrication pipelines; hard foreign particles will scratch mirror raceways and ceramic ball surfaces. Mixing lubricants of different brands or base oil types is prohibited. Regularly clean external oil supply rings to avoid carbon deposit obstructing oil-air injection.
5.4 Speed Parameter Note
Inner-ring guided cage adapts to continuous operation within medium-to-high DN range with outstanding rigidity. AQ light preload design reduces internal friction effectively, delivering superior continuous high-speed capacity compared with equivalent standard preload bearings. The complete machine shall be equipped with efficient cooling system and sufficient speed safety margin. Open bearings have no built-in dust shield; bearing housing must be designed with reliable external sealing against dust and cutting fluid to prevent abrasive damage on rolling elements and raceways.
6 Daily Maintenance & Fault Troubleshooting
Carry out multi-stage low-speed running-in after assembly, continuously monitor temperature rise and vibration indicators. Only raise rotating speed to rated high speed after all data stabilize. Continuously track spindle temperature variation during running-in phase. Regularly inspect external housing sealing integrity, oil-air pipeline pressure and flow rate to prevent insufficient oil supply and local dry friction.
When steady abnormal noise, rapid temperature rise or growing vibration occurs, check sequentially: lubricant cleanliness, assembly coaxiality, bearing installation direction, whether matched bearings are split and mixed, external overload impact, foreign matter entering raceway and abnormal preload status.
Typical failure modes of hybrid ceramic precision dual bearings include pitting on ceramic balls, abrasive wear of raceways, accuracy loss induced by splitting and mixing matched bearings, excessive assembly stress, lubrication failure due to interrupted oil supply and long-term overloaded operation. Conduct regular online monitoring of temperature and vibration to detect incipient bearing damage in advance and prevent unexpected spindle shutdown.
