Note: CE stands for 25° contact angle delivering higher axial rigidity than 15° contact angle bearings, suitable for milling applications under moderate axial load. Solid inner-ring guided cage runs stably within medium-to-high DN range and resists alternating cutting loads. Suffix G represents built-in lubrication passages on outer ring, eliminating the need for extra external oil supply rings and simplifying spindle assembly layout. Suffix B means silicon nitride ceramic rolling elements with insulation function to block shaft current and avoid electrocorrosion pits on raceways, the preferred choice for built-in motor spindles.

Suffix A means no factory pre-matching and provides high design flexibility. Equipment manufacturers can assemble DB back-to-back, DF face-to-face or DT tandem layouts with spacers of different thickness, and freely adjust light, medium and heavy preload according to rigidity and speed requirements. Built-in outer ring oil passages fit compact high-speed spindle design. Open structure fits oil-air forced lubrication and circulating oil lubrication, long-duration high-speed grease lubrication is not recommended.

2 Structure & Operating Characteristics

Japan NMT 7014 CEGB/P4A is premium hybrid ceramic 25° contact angle, P4 super precision single-row angular contact ball bearing of 7014 series. Inner and outer rings are made of high-carbon chromium bearing steel with stabilized heat treatment to eliminate residual stress. Multi-stage mirror super-finishing on raceways reduces vibration amplitude and running noise during high-speed rotation.

Rolling elements are high-precision silicon nitride ceramic balls featuring low density, light weight and excellent insulation. Lower centrifugal force at high speed raises limiting rotating speed, meanwhile blocking shaft current to prevent electrocorrosion. Equipped with solid inner-ring-guided cage featuring sufficient structural rigidity to withstand alternating cutting loads during finishing process. Integrally machined oil-air injection passages on outer ring enable direct lubricant delivery to contact zone, improving cooling effect under high-speed working conditions. Supplied as individual unit without pairing or preset preload, enabling high flexibility for spindle design.

When matched with precision spacers, it can form various dual-set or triple-set support layouts to balance radial rigidity, axial rigidity, anti-overturning capacity and limiting rotating speed. It is ideal for compact spindle designs saving installation space of external oil supply components.

Each single bearing passes comprehensive rotational accuracy inspection at factory. Suitable for various high-speed processing equipment equipped with built-in motors suffering shaft current risks and adopting outer ring direct injection lubrication, such as motor spindles, general CNC milling machines, grinding spindles and automatic engraving spindles, maintaining stable machining precision over long operation hours.

3 Core Performance Advantages

1. CE 25° contact angle with solid inner-ring guided cage: Sufficient axial rigidity, withstand moderate alternating milling loads and operate smoothly at medium and high speed, applicable for mold and aluminum alloy finishing.

2. G-type integrated outer ring oil-air lubrication passages: Realize direct lubrication from outer ring, simplify spindle housing oil circuit layout, save assembly space and enhance lubrication & cooling efficiency at high speed.

3. B-type silicon nitride ceramic rolling elements: Hybrid ceramic insulated construction cuts off shaft current and prevents raceway electrocorrosion. Lightweight ceramic balls reduce high-speed centrifugal load and boost maximum DN value.

4. A single bearing flexible pairing design: Free from fixed factory pairing forms. DB/DF/DT layouts and preload can be adjusted on-site with spacers, maximizing spindle design freedom.

5. ISO P4 super precision grade: Strictly control radial and axial runout to maintain long-term high-precision cutting performance of spindles.

6. Open non-sealed construction: Zero seal friction loss, perfectly compatible with oil-air forced lubrication and circulating oil lubrication systems.

5 Assembly Specifications & Usage Guidelines

5.1 Assembly Environment & Operation Standards

P4 precision hybrid ceramic single bearings must be assembled in constant-temperature dust-free clean workshops. Remove all burrs and metal debris on shaft and housing mating surfaces. Controlled thermal mounting method is recommended with strictly limited heating temperature to avoid damage to ceramic balls and raceways; open-flame heating is forbidden. Never strike bearing rings to prevent cracks on raceways and ceramic balls.

Important reminder: 7014 CEGB/P4A is independent monoblock bearing. Two single bearings cannot be directly used as factory pre-ground matched set. Precision ground spacers are mandatory to control preload value. Protect outer ring lubrication passages during assembly to avoid blockage by metal chips.

5.2 Pairing & Preload Instructions

Supply condition: Single independent unit without end-face grinding and preset preload.

Available on-site layouts: DB back-to-back, DF face-to-face, DT tandem arrangement.

Selection tips:

Built-in motor spindles with shaft current risk and outer ring direct oil-air supply → Prioritize 7014 CEGB/P4A;

Belt-driven mechanical spindles without shaft current risk focusing on cost control → Choose all steel type 7014 CEGA/P4A;

Spindles equipped with external oil supply rings requiring insulation → Select 7014 CEB/P4A.

5.3 Lubrication Matching Scheme

No pre-filled grease. Oil-air forced circulation lubrication or circulating oil lubrication system is recommended; long-duration high-speed grease lubrication is not advised. High-precision filters shall be installed in lubrication pipelines; hard foreign particles will scratch mirror raceways and ceramic ball surfaces. Mixing lubricants of different brands or base oil types is prohibited. Regularly clean outer ring built-in lubrication passages to avoid uneven oil supply caused by carbon deposit and debris clogging. Hybrid ceramic bearings demand higher lubricant cleanliness than all steel bearings; monitor lubricant cleanliness level periodically.

5.4 Speed Parameter Note

Inner-ring guided cage adapts to continuous operation within medium-to-high DN range. Ceramic balls reduce high-speed centrifugal force and deliver higher limiting speed compared with equivalent all steel bearings. Preload magnitude is determined by matched spacers: higher preload delivers stronger rigidity yet higher temperature rise and lower limiting speed, balance should be made according to machining conditions. The complete machine shall be equipped with efficient cooling system and sufficient speed safety margin. Open bearings have no built-in dust shield; bearing housing must be designed with reliable external sealing against dust and cutting fluid to prevent abrasive damage on rolling elements and raceways.

6 Daily Maintenance & Fault Troubleshooting

After assembly of bearings and spacers, carry out multi-stage low-speed running-in, continuously monitor temperature rise and vibration indicators. Only raise rotating speed to rated high speed after all data stabilize. Continuously track spindle temperature variation during running-in phase. Regularly inspect external housing sealing integrity, oil-air pipeline pressure and flow rate, confirm outer ring lubrication passages remain unobstructed to avoid local dry friction due to insufficient oil supply.

When steady abnormal noise, rapid temperature rise or growing vibration occurs, check sequentially: lubricant cleanliness, outer ring oil passage clogging, assembly coaxiality, parallelism and thickness accuracy of spacers, bearing installation direction, excessive preload, external overload impact and foreign matter entering raceway.

Typical failure modes of hybrid ceramic precision single bearings include abrasive wear of raceways, pitting on ceramic ball surfaces, local overheating caused by blocked oil passages, thermal burn caused by improper preload, excessive assembly stress, lubrication failure due to interrupted oil supply and long-term overloaded operation. Conduct regular online monitoring of temperature and vibration to detect incipient bearing damage in advance and prevent unexpected spindle shutdown.
