NMT Thrust Roller Bearings Heavy-Duty Axial Positioning Thrust Roller Bearings for Press, Jack and Mining Equipment

Thrust roller bearings are special pressure-bearing bearings designed for ultra-large one-way axial loads. Different from radial bearings focusing on radial force bearing, the overall structure is optimized for axial pressure bearing, composed of shaft washer, housing washer, roller assembly and high-strength cage. The dense arrangement of rollers brings large pressure contact area, which can bear ton-level continuous axial pressure with strong rigidity and tiny deformation under compression. It can accurately limit the axial play of rotating shafts, piston rods and lead screws, serving as the core pressure-bearing component of hydraulic equipment, heavy pressing devices, lifting jacks and mine main shafts. Conventional thrust ball bearings adopt point contact structure, which is prone to ball crushing, raceway depression and overall fracture failure under high-pressure working conditions, failing to adapt to long-term high-pressure extrusion. The inherent advantage of line contact pressure bearing of thrust roller bearings perfectly makes up for the heavy-load weakness of thrust ball bearings.

NMT thrust roller bearings boast a complete product portfolio covering two mainstream structures: thrust cylindrical roller bearings and thrust tapered roller bearings, including 81100, 81200, 81300, 81400 standard thrust cylindrical series and 90000 thrust tapered roller series. Custom thickened heavy-duty models are also available. We supply both standard spot specifications and non-standard size modification services to meet the needs of domestic equipment renovation, imported equipment replacement and customized assembly of large-scale equipment. Two assembly structures are available: integrated cage and split cage with high recognizability for installation direction. The shaft washer fits the rotating shaft closely while the housing washer is fixed on the base, featuring easy installation and convenient maintenance and disassembly in later stage.

In terms of working condition adaptation, NMT thrust roller bearings have prominent advantages over similar products: compared with thrust ball bearings, the axial load capacity is increased by 3-8 times with greatly improved resistance to high-pressure plastic deformation to avoid point crushing damage of steel balls under high pressure; compared with flat needle roller bearings, the overall structural stability is stronger to prevent roller scattering, suitable for low-speed continuous pressure bearing and intermittent impact pressing scenarios; compared with ordinary flat gaskets, the built-in precision raceway realizes rolling friction with far lower friction resistance than sliding friction, resulting in low heat generation during pressing operation and no sintering seizure caused by dry friction. This type of bearing hardly bears radial load and only focuses on axial pressure bearing with stable axial positioning accuracy, free of clearance relaxation and axial displacement after long-term compression.

Heavy hydraulic presses, vertical jacks, hydraulic cylinders, mine crusher main shafts, steel rolling equipment, forging machinery, large lead screw lifting mechanisms, marine rudders and injection molding machine mold locking structures operate under harsh conditions of static high pressure, reciprocating pressing, instantaneous impact pressure and high-temperature oil immersion all year round. Low-end inferior thrust roller bearings commonly suffer from loose roller materials, shallow raceway quenching layer, thin and easy-to-tear sheet metal cages and large dimensional errors of roller length. Under high-pressure load, faults such as roller fracture, raceway collapse, cage tearing and scattering and bearing seizure easily occur, directly leading to insufficient press pressure, jack pressure relief, main shaft axial shaking and mold locking force attenuation, interrupting production line operation and bringing additional burdens to enterprises from high disassembly and maintenance costs and shutdown losses.

All NMT thrust roller bearings are made of vacuum degassed high-purity bearing steel raw materials, formed by integral forging to compact internal metallographic structure and eliminate pressure weak points caused by internal pores and impurities. The inner and outer ring raceways are processed by deep carburizing quenching and high-temperature tempering stabilization treatment, featuring high surface hardness for wear and extrusion resistance and sufficient toughness of the substrate core to avoid overall brittle fracture under peak impact pressure. Rollers undergo full-size sorting and end face chamfering passivation treatment with unified height dimensions to evenly distribute bearing loads and prevent fracture of single overloaded rollers. The raceway surface is ultra-precisely ground with high surface finish for smooth rolling and no large-area pitting peeling during long-term high-pressure rolling.

Two cage options are provided: brass solid cage and thickened steel plate stamping cage. The brass cage has excellent toughness, suitable for low-speed continuous pressure bearing and high-temperature low-oil working conditions with good wear and tear resistance; the thickened steel plate cage boasts outstanding impact resistance, matching intermittent impact pressing scenarios of jacks and crushing equipment. The bearing undergoes pre-pressure running-in treatment in advance to release assembly stress, realizing controllable compression deformation after installation and durable stable axial positioning accuracy. The operating temperature ranges from -30℃ to 150℃, adapting to various lubrication conditions such as hydraulic oil, grease and a small amount of dry lubrication for open-pit mines, high-temperature forging and closed hydraulic chambers.

Every NMT thrust roller bearing undergoes a complete set of pressure inspection procedures before delivery: axial ultimate pressure test, raceway hardness sampling inspection, roller parallelism test, cage tensile strength test and no-load rotation resistance test to eliminate defective products with insufficient pressure resistance, accuracy deviation and weak structure, ensuring consistent pressure bearing performance of each product. After equipment installation, the pressure output is stable with zero axial clearance positioning. The structure remains stable after repeated pressing for a long time without partial roller wear or raceway collapse, greatly extending the bearing replacement cycle and reducing major overhaul frequency of heavy equipment.

With the upgrading of heavy equipment towards high pressure, compact structure and long maintenance-free cycle, traditional inferior thrust roller bearings have low pressure upper limit, easy damage and short service life, failing to meet the stable use requirements of high-end hydraulic equipment and large metallurgical mining equipment. Relying on four core processes including high-toughness bearing steel, deep hardened raceway, roller load equalization shaping and high-strength cage, NMT targets common industry problems such as high-pressure fracture, raceway collapse, cage breakage, axial positioning failure and pressure relief fault to provide long-term reliable bearing supporting solutions for various axial pressure-bearing heavy equipment.

Core Product Advantages

Roller line contact axial pressure-bearing structure with ultra-large axial load capacity, strong rigidity and negligible deformation under compression for stable axial position locking.

Deep quenching raceway matched with precision grinding process, excellent extrusion and pitting resistance to prevent raceway depression and damage under long-term high pressure.

Precision grading and screening of rollers to evenly distribute loads and avoid damage caused by single-point overload for significantly improved overall pressure upper limit.

Dual cage options: brass type for high-temperature low-speed conditions and steel plate type for impact load with flexible scenario adaptation.

Two mainstream structures, full series of standard models and non-standard customization cover conventional replacement and customized renovation of large-scale equipment.

Rolling friction replaces sliding friction to reduce pressing operation resistance and heat generation and eliminate sintering seizure faults caused by dry friction.

Forged bearing steel with high purity reduces internal defects to resist peak impact pressure without direct brittle fracture under sudden high pressure.

Pre-pressure running-in and multiple pressure inspections before delivery ensure consistent product performance and stable pressure without attenuation after installation.
